Honestly i think this 2nd season pak conte seems a lil bit selfish and negative...
He only want the best player and want club buy ready made player at peak age 28-31 thats gonna cost a bomb with no resale/longer term value...
Even if chelsea cant buy all the best player in the world, with good work ethic, teamwork, tactic and good rotation i think even some youngsters willing to stay and back up the team...
I can believe conte switch his mindset from keep saying improving the team in terms of work and now he shifting towards 'i must have the best player to make this team work' and 'all the youngsters is not good enuf as backups'....
It looks like hes imploding all the hardwork hes been putting on chelsea since past year....
i will not put the blame on conte though..
the owner and the board have high ambitions. that high ambitions need to be supported with suitable resource i.e. quality training facility, medical staff, coaching staff and more importantly, quality players who will do all the dirty works on the field.
you cannot set an ambition to win the champions league with only youngsters, can you? the actions portrayed by the 'kuli' (conte) is a direct portrayal of what roman and the board is enforcing/imposing on him. for me, he is just trying to do his job. roman himself wanted success in the shortest time possible. how to do this? get established stars as you said. roman is also the guy who kicked ancelotti away from chelsea.. this is like the most successful football manager in recent time. who else can do this demanding job?
i just watched football since 2002.. and i think the most exciting YOUNG team that go really far in the CL/domestic league got to be Monaco 16/17 team. their achievement is really crazy. how many clubs can replicate this or achieve the same feat?
