Approve? Rmb the season we won the league. Alderweireld first season in PL. On loan at S'ton. S'ton had 2nd best defense in league. Cedric was part of the back line. Bertrand, Alderweireld, Fonte and him.

A definite yes for me.

would be a good value if the deal go through. 15million for a 25 years old.

Honestly i think this 2nd season pak conte seems a lil bit selfish and negative...

He only want the best player and want club buy ready made player at peak age 28-31 thats gonna cost a bomb with no resale/longer term value...

Even if chelsea cant buy all the best player in the world, with good work ethic, teamwork, tactic and good rotation i think even some youngsters willing to stay and back up the team...

I can believe conte switch his mindset from keep saying improving the team in terms of work and now he shifting towards 'i must have the best player to make this team work' and 'all the youngsters is not good enuf as backups'....

It looks like hes imploding all the hardwork hes been putting on chelsea since past year....
*
i will not put the blame on conte though..

the owner and the board have high ambitions. that high ambitions need to be supported with suitable resource i.e. quality training facility, medical staff, coaching staff and more importantly, quality players who will do all the dirty works on the field.

you cannot set an ambition to win the champions league with only youngsters, can you? the actions portrayed by the 'kuli' (conte) is a direct portrayal of what roman and the board is enforcing/imposing on him. for me, he is just trying to do his job. roman himself wanted success in the shortest time possible. how to do this? get established stars as you said. roman is also the guy who kicked ancelotti away from chelsea.. this is like the most successful football manager in recent time. who else can do this demanding job?

i just watched football since 2002.. and i think the most exciting YOUNG team that go really far in the CL/domestic league got to be Monaco 16/17 team. their achievement is really crazy. how many clubs can replicate this or achieve the same feat?

Bakayoko doing good so far. I hope we are not pushing him too much. Very good game for him to regain match fitness.

Rudiger is imposing at the back. Glad we bought him.

looking back at the game, the inclusion of bakayoko really caught me by surprise. and the sudden overload of strong and tough tackling player (luiz, kante, bakayoko) in the middle of the field pushed eriksen to the side and dembele+wanyama cannot easily steamroll our midfield. great thinking by conte!

the other team that got better midfield power is surely man united. pogba, matic, fellaini.. i think if we employ the same formation as today with hazard coming back into the starting line-up, we got better chance to cause an upset.

It's ok la. We need quantity more than quality now. First team is good, but iur bench not enough players. These players make decent backup and are good for first team action in cups and games against bottom half teams
*
agree.. at the moment we are lacking quantity. and, we need those homegrown status that these 2 players offer.

ox provide versatility and serious challenge to moses (and perhaps to alonso as well). drinkwater surely a squad player with experience to stand in for kante/bakayoko.

If the deal for costa happened and they loan him to everton, i think he might be our agent in disguise! We already beaten everton and hopefully he can do us some favor when they go against other title contender.

Please, No to Sanchez. Like a kid. doh.gif

Ox and Drinkwater is good buy for me. I don't know whats with the disapproval for Drinkwater. I think he is a very capable back up or rotation player. With Fab, Baka and Kante fighting for DMF spot. Drinkwater will play the odd game. Let's not forget he is a PL winner, good passer of the ball. Good for rotation. And let's not forget we are on all fronts for trophies targeted. tongue.gif

Ox is good due to his versatility and also homegrown status. Can play DMF or RWB. Will provide good rotation and competition to Moses. Rmb Moses was so burnt out last season towards the end.
*
for me, sanchez does look like a kid, but in a good way.

he is hungry for success and that is why he sulk when players that he got around him at arsenal are thrashes. some is good, but not as good as him. ozil is like chipsmore.. cech is capable for a lot more but defensive players at arsenal are in shambles because they put more emphasize on beautiful football, lacazette is 50:50 as he is very new. who else? my point is, it is good to be the club hero but after a looong time, shouldering the burden to produce results week in week out is a big psychological wall to him. he is not getting any younger and with every passing season, the chance of him winning the league with arsenal becomes lesser. for me, sanchez is tired both physically and mentally. that is why he becomes like this.

i would want him for chelsea, provided the money is right or we just simply wait until his contract expiry. and, we need to offload either pedro or willian to accommodate him.

It will be good if we can satisfy thise two at the bench with drinking water and coffee.

We cannot be possibly be getting 30 worldclass players when we only got 11 starting place. At least these guys will not make stupid drama and I think they are well aware of their future when they decide come here. Zappacosta will be fighting for a spot at wingback and drinkwater will.ve a capable cover at DM.

what the hell happened after leicester got their goals? our players doesn't seem want to play. even when hazard was in, they just gentel-gentel the goal for no real purpose!

Good win for the team. Glad to see other players given the time to get/maintain match fitness. Especially for Michy, the two goals he scored will surely boost his confidence.

their bench is crazy..

jesus off for bernardo silva..
de bruyne off for gundogan..
david silva off for sane..

the three subs can easily be a confirm starter in other team.

IMO, we are lucky to get away with a point. we only played for the first 15 minutes.. and then everybody went blank headed..

luiz deserved the red card. stupid action by him. same case as the one that caused cahill to be sent off in our first game of the season. i wonder why our CB got the license to run with the ball for such a long period of time. shouldn't they play it easy and move the ball squarely to other team mates?

conte losing his intensity?

i dont think we can ever replace costa, when he came 3 years ago, he looks like 'drogba' where we know he can challenge every defender physically and mentally, we can always count on him to hold ball to release the winger. although he is sometime too 'childishv and overreact, but when he stay claim he is too much for defender to handle.  he still got at least 4 top years in him. sadly things have to go down to this way, nevertheless we got a great money from am, all the best for him.

agree on your comment.

i really like his physicality.. and what i like the most is how clinical he was inside the 6 yard box.

i think we sell him at a good price. just enough to cover the cost of morata.

bakayoko having a terrible game.. losing ball on multiple occasions.. our back three look settled. alonso pinned down on his flank maybe to take care of diouf.

we got no issue about depth for our defenders.. but if all our defender start to go retard, we might lost everybody due to red cards!

i think the game against AM will determine who tops our CL group. but then again, being top of the group doesn't guarantee we will get easier route pass the 2nd round. as long as we are the top two by end of the group stage will be very good already. still, i am hoping for the best for the match.

i am much more concern about the game against city. they averaged 2-3 goals per game with only 2 goals conceded in all games so far. maybe we should go super defensive and hit them during counter attack. i think they are most vulnerable at CB area because both Stones and Otamendi can be a time-bomb. no chance to go pass mendy or walker on the flanks.. hopefully conte can do his magic during this game!
