KLANG: Tense atmosphere enveloped the Klang Sessions Court, here this morning, as 33 suspects linked to the notorious ‘Gang 24 Apache’, were charged with being part of an organised crime group.
Another accused was charged with providing financial assistance to the group.
The accused’s arrived at the court complex at 8.15am in three police trucks, escorted by about 100 heavily-armed policemen, equipped with submachine guns.
Some 80 people, believed to be family members of the accused’s, began gathering outside the court complex as early as 8am to follow proceedings.
In the court, it was crowded as well as family members and members of the media jostled for the available space, even though the proceeding involving the accused case convened at 12.20pm.
