Hi all,

I’m interested in the Enkei RPF-1(17x7.5 +42) and I’m quite concerned about getting a dud(China made).

I am looking for a replica as i was told that the ones from Thailand are well made by the SSW factory. I don’t want the Japan made one as that would be way too costly.

There are 2 shops(Apex and Hup Shun) offering these wheels in Sunway between rm1300-1550.

Are these shops trustworthy?

How do I tell if the wheels are truly made in Thailand?

Who are on these Thailand made RPF-1, and have you been happy with them?

Thanks!

i don't think the thailand one is good enough.
the rim is heavy and the quality are mostly negatives according to my car clubs members.
most prefer the thailand ssw rims are because of the volk racing model of re30/te37/ce28 are more similar to japan set in color.
other than that, thailand rims quality are no where good.

Those SSW replica rims are heavy! Might as well buy original Advanti Storm series rims made in Taiwan, good quality but relatively cheap price, lightweight and strong enough too.

bro Advanti storm series are not made in taiwan
they have facilities in Msia , China Shanghai /Suzhou and Taiwan
and their Most Advance factory are in China

too often Advanti label as "TAIWAN rim" that make them same level with those replica
with their network and sales , they deserve International brand status

most of the replica come from china nowaday, pls dont believe with these price range can get taiwan made rim anymore (maybe can but less chance)
and tire shop tell u made in thailand are better just a tactic

yes SSW are thailand made but no comment on the quality
problem with replica is you dont know how good or bad the rim is , u have to risk ur life to test it .

and Advanti Storm with flow forming tech is good product but limited size and design is the only downside

Yup, I suppose as long as it's original product then still ok, just like Michelin tires made in Thailand, still is a world class tire. But avoid replica/fake rims.

save a bit more and buy the genuine RPF-1, be it new or used.

id suggest finding used original RPF1s instead. these wheels are one of the cheapest japan wheels anyway so used should be reasonably priced.
