My Norton Anti-virus Internet security (free, comes with my notebook) expired last sunday.
installed Avast anti-virus. Its running great and smooth for my 6203tx. system boot became faster rather than norton installed. |

QUOTE(sidewinderz @ Apr 10 2007, 04:53 PM) hehe...sure sure!! its 3 days for warranty repair/claim, standard, cant argue with that.damn....still waiting for my laptop to return to me.... wat are the chances that they will repair the scratch portion for me?? its been 1 day since i sent my laptop in for service....why service so slow?? last time when i sent my 6203tx there, i asked them, what if after warranty claim the problem still there, and the lady said 'we replace until u satisfied and come to an extent (cant be repaired) we will replace new set for u' Added on April 11, 2007, 9:04 amfor vista camp & nvidia geforce go 7400 users, there is a new/latest driver from HP and also from microsoft. go check it out. download either from HP updates software or windows update. Last night im trying to hook up my dv6203tx to my Samsung 32" HD LCD tv thru vga cable. The problem occur is that the pre-installed driver (the one who came from either microsoft or HP) is not powerfull/not supported enough to maximize the Nvidia 7400 GPU. (if you notice when you open the nvidia control panel - 3d Settings, even you set the GPU to quality, the 3d animation preview is still jagged, and not smooth (anti-alias) that it suppose to be.
So, i try to download this X-treme-G Forceware Driver (tweaked by x-treme) for my nvidia 7400. and it works like a charm. when i set the GPU 3d setting to quality, the animation preview improves a lot! not jagged edge anymore. Then when i hook up to my big LCD hdtv, the display was amazing. the detail were sharp, color reproduction is magnificent. and i able to set custom resolution thru nvidia control panel to my LCD native resolution (1366x786). thanks to xtreme-g you can get the driver mentioned at: http://www.tweaksrus.com/index.php go to download section. installation instruction = uninstall first the current nvidia driver. restart, and install the tweaked version. now, every time i use my dv6203tx for graphic editing, i hook it up to my LCD tv and seat relaxingly 10ft away from the screen on a comfy sofa. and the image still big and sharp just another reason why i love my dv6203tx so much |

just purchased a 2x1gb 667 mhz ram from viewnet@lowyat. 2gb in vista notebook is a breeze.. RM 140 per pcs.
taught to purchase it at pc fair, but seems at lowyat is lower. now i can do 12ftx8ft artwork (actual size) in illustrator and at the same time editing 300mb img file in photoshop with no hiccup. |

QUOTE(sidewinderz @ Aug 6 2007, 07:25 PM) congrats congrats...hehe....this thread seem to b pretty dead...couldn stand vista so i switched to XP...now everything is so smooth... hehehe.. same with me before. i thought to swap back to xp. but i look at the 'quite tedious' process, then i upgrade the ram to give it a try...maybe nowadays all people use newer notebooks, thats y this thread seems dead... |
