anyone having problems with msn on vista?? mine seems to keep on signing in and signing out non-stop.
also, does anyone know how to allow access to shared folders on a network only to selected users? (considering the folders im sharing are from my other pc, running xp and i only want my dv to be able to access them and no one else that is connected to the same network)
thanks.

anyone know about avast av, as in does it have auto-detect of viruses when u plug in thumb drives etc? coz when i plugged in a thumb drive which had a virus, it didnt auto-detect it. windows autoplay showed the normal options of viewing folder n all and also an option to open the .exe file inside which was a virus. so i just opened the folder, but it didnt detect any viruses straight away till i scanned it. do i have to set some options??

anyone notice any difference when opening media files in wmp from the first time u got ur laptop and after installing codec packs?? now whenever i open media files, it takes a few seconds to load, and shows 'media changing' in the bottom left corner. it used to open straight away last time. is it coz of the codec pack? im using k-lite codec pack.

QUOTE(sidewinderz @ Jun 4 2007, 05:59 PM) wat codec pack are u using now? i'm using k-lite mega codec pack im using k-lite full codec pack. is it possible to have 2 codec packs installed 2gether? i was having both k-lite and vista codec packs and thought maybe they were causing the slight lag when loading coz of conflicts or something. so i uninstalled them both and just installed k-lite alone. but still doesnt seem to load as fast as last time. what could be the problem?

anyone feel that data transfer is kinda slow for the 6203tx? dont know about the others. within folders also i feel a bit slow and from hdd to thumbdrive, copying a 350mb file takes about 2 n a half mins or so@1.95mb/sec. i find that data transfer between thumb drive and desktop pc (only 1.8 p4) is much faster than the 6203. any reason for this?

QUOTE(sidewinderz @ Oct 28 2007, 08:00 PM) hmm..if ur pendrive is running on USB 1.1...tat speed is pretty normal...just check and see which USB issit on....and bare in mind that writing seped is generally slower than reading speed... hope it helps.. but if u ask me...tat speed is pretty reasonable... hmmmm. not sure what speed my pendrive is running at. but i dont think it's 1.1 coz i bought it quite recently. even if im not sure what speed it is, how come it runs faster on my desktop compared to my dv6203tx? both d slots at d side are 2.0 right??

QUOTE(sidewinderz @ Nov 6 2007, 02:20 PM) mhm...i've tested wif my pendrive the other day..the speed tat you're mentioning is about the same i'm getting...so i guess this is as fast as it can go..unless u opt for those high speed usb drives... i know you bought ur drive quite recently..but the market still sell those usb 1.1 modules at rediculous price and it normally full the average consumer....so better be careful... hmmm. alright. just wanted to check in case anyone was getting higher speeds than mine and maybe there was something wrong with mine. thanks 4 d help

anyone who has dv6203tx tried upgrading ram from 2GB to 4GB before? using everest, i found out that the maximum amount that the chipset can support is 4GB, so i bought 2 pieces of 2GB hoping that it would work. in the bios however it only shows 3328 MB and the vista loading bar shows up...as well as the welcome sound, but the screen is black and doesnt load the user log on screen. is it true that it really doesnt support 4GB or do i just need 2 upgrade my BIOS?
Added on September 16, 2008, 7:12 pmmy current bios version is only f.16 and in everest it shows the date for my cpu bios was feb 2007 and video bios even older june 2006. im just worried of any conflicts if i try 2 update my bios
