Absolutely terrible. TM has very good infrastructure when it comes to cabling, but their PPPOE servers suck. The main cause for TM unreliability are their gateways (PPPOE servers). They have 1 per large area and it is constantly under heavy load which causes disconnects to slow speeds.

Hi, just sharing my experience migrating from Streamyx 4Mbps to UniFi Lite 10Mbps just recently.
I had put into words and images into my website.
For some general information and review, you're invited to visit my website.
Website is hosted at home on my web/ftp server computer.
The url is as follows:
http://chlooi96.zapto.org/comp/unifi.html
Cheers and do offer some comments later. Thanks

Thanks everyone and all recent feedbacks. Appreciated.
Some are mentioned that they had a bad experience using either Streamyx or Unifi. This is the main reason to stopped me from upgrading to Unifi.
Unifi is not cheap. Plus I've seen the comparison between 10mbps and 3mbps packages and for 10mbps are not good for upload and download stuff, somemore not for video calling. In another saying, 30mbps is my best option. Honestly, if you ask me to go for it, sorry I won't pay them nearly RM200 /month. Their service still sucks and still keep contacting them for always, average 2 months once. And you know wat, till now my phone still in 'check phone line' status even after their technician came over to my house and repaired every time. Sorry but I won't pay them more till they service is improve.

the best is... subscribe to 10Mbps package 1st... use for 1-2 months... if feel need for speed... just upgrade to 30Mbps..... yes.. you contract will extended at the same time.. bu that just 1-2 months extended contract only..

try use 10Mbps see what your average speed requirement for your to do your staff...if u like high quality stream let say fullHD or 4K content.. but your hardware is limited let say not FullHD TV or not enuf space to download all the content... then stick to 10Mbps..

ya.. who doesn't like faster speed.. use to have from 56k dialup to streamyx 1mb to unifi 5Mbps later 10Mbps later 30Mbps and now 50Mbps...between 30 and 50 not much different is u ask me.. 30 is ok for my minimum speed usage..

30mbps can handle youtube 4k?

4k30fps bitrate is less than 30mbps.

however, their bitrate for 4k60fps is more than 30mbps. maybe need to buffer a bit before playing

4K content for Netflix just use 15.26Mbps speed only... for Youtube 4K i cant try via TV since native app dun play Youtube 4K content.. for YouTube 4K 30p can play no lag via Desktop PC.. never try 4K 60p yet... will try and see later.. might need buffer as you stated..

4. they guarantee you at least 80% from maximum speed. so the least speed should get is 24mbps. if more than this, ok alraeady. averagely, speed should get at 90% speeed which is about 27mbps

to be honest, 10mb is sufficient because you won't feel much difference (exclude downloading). normal gaming, browsing and streaming 10mb is good enough

i googled about this matter and i've come to this page. though tis is a yr old thread, but im jz trying out my luck here on my question.

I just upgraded my unifi to 30mbps but my downlaod speed is only 500kb/s n its not consistent at all.. mac i can go up to tat but other than tat its always about 200-300kb/s only..

anybody can help? will hypptv affect the speed as well since the channels in there are basically from internet.. or its not?
*
upgraded from what speed?
what was your download speed before upgrade?
how to you test "download speed"?
was it consistent before upgrade?
was any equipment changed?

30mbps user here in Sarawak for almost a year. Average download speed 2.0mb/s. So far so good. But everyday must turn off/turn on the modem and router at least once a day, because connection will go very slow every evening. After turn on then everything runs fine. Still trying to figure out why this happens on a daily basis.

Using TM supplied modem and router by the way.

Sarawak user here too

One person usage 10mb might be enough. If more people then you'll need 30mb
