Interesting, I nearly turned off by the retro Matsumoto Leiji'ish style of the animu. Seems that when everyone turned 14, they will have their memories purged. our main characther, Shin (not Asuka thankfully, but Jomy Marcus) will have that procedure done to him the next day, but before it could happen, a guy came and stopped it, telling him to cherish his memories
I kinda felt it was like the 1st ep of Kino no Tabi, where there is one organization that controls what humans do after they turn a certain age, wipin the memory and making choises for them after that
