Getting Started

|
Work is at the KLCC/downtown area (may change, so would prefer to live near an mRT or train station).
Looking to buy a property for living and investment purposes. Have been renting x 2yrs
I notice that condos command a high rent price (and it is affordable) yet a house is so much more expensive but rent is cheap.
It is even at the point where i would rather buy a condo (700k) then rent it out and use the money to rent a house to stay.
Anyways, basically, my question is..
For living/investment purposes, why pick a house over a brand new condo?
Houses are so expensive, and far from public transport, qnd usually ugly

Landed = retired folks, enjoy their remaining life. That's why those ppl dont mind staying at Rawang or Semenyih. Let's say if the owner there want to rent out instead of own staying, do you think anyone wanna rent at such location?
High rise condo = better security. with facilities. nearby commercial area. of course easy to fetch rental as tenant looking for convenience and not to settle down permanently.
Anyway if you can afford landed, gated and guarded, clubhouse facilities, located at prime location, that will be the dream of everyone.
Anyway, where are you renting at for 2 years now? And what is your budget? Got plenty of choices in the slow down market at the moment.

House is like your whole castle while condo is like a room in a castle. Just my point of view.

For capital appreciation, landed almost always better than condo. For constant stream of income, I will choose condo.
