But for some reason, Youtube is the only thing that is fine. I can stream up to 4k even, without a hitch but every thing else is frustratingly slow. Even Facebook.

It's absurd how slow the Internet is. I pay for 30mbps yet this shit happens. This has been going on for about a week now.

QUOTE(v6_kid @ Oct 30 2017, 04:21 PM) Guys, what should i do when subscribed for 30mbps, but speedtest only shown 5mbps? Fyi, im staying at high rise condo. is it normal? #feelscheatedĀ Judging from my experience of using Unifi in the past 1.5 months, this seems to be normal. About 2 weeks ago I had the speed go down to 0.81mbps. I really miss my Internet connection back in Europe... 150mbps for less than what I pay for for Unifi 30mbps here. Plus it's incredibly stable. P.S. here is what the speedtest returns now: This post has been edited by ImageRaiter: Oct 30 2017, 04:29 PM Attached image(s) |

QUOTE(Isky @ Oct 30 2017, 04:43 PM) THIS! I'm on 50Mbs, and I'm getting the same problem. I'me getting as low as 3-5mbps, even for some local servers. I actually complained to TM, and they want to send someone to my house this week, but no one will be around, so their way of dealing with this is to close the report and ask me to call again next well. I'm very convinced that their infrastructure is getting drowned. Every time there is very heavy rain the speeds slow down a lot. Anyway, give this a try so we can compare. 1. On speedtest.net, try YTL Broadband, MyKris, and Universiti Tenaga Nasional local servers. These should be fast. I get near full speed on these. 2. Try any other local server, including TM KL server. I get only 6Mbps down on the TM KL server. If any traffic is routing through this server, that might explain the crappy speeds. 3. International servers, whether SG, JP, or US, I get from 2-5Mbps, but can get higher upload speeds up to 15Mbps. For me, I don't get why they need to come to my house to test. The fact that I can access YTL, MyKris, and UTN servers at full 50/20 means the line isn't the issue. It's their routing. Unfortunately, I have to wait till next week before I can deal with this issue again. One thing though, is that some downloads don't seem to be affected. But the inherent problem of these >30Mbps is that we are not as sensitive to slowdowns as we were when we were on Streamyx or VIP5. That means it is also possible for us users to get less than 50Mbps during browsing and not be aware of it. But that also means that ISPs can get away with giving less as long is the user gets a speed that's "fast enough". Of course, that is more like to happen for things like browsing and video streaming, but not direct downloading / torrenting where download speed info is visible. But I'm glad someone brought this up. Hate to say it, but at least it isn't just me, so at least I know it's not my equipment or line. BTW, can someone clarify this RM50(?) charge that will be imposed on your next bill if TM comes to your house to check? They can only charge is the equipment fault is on my premise, right? ![]() Thank god StackOverflow still loads, otherwise I would flip out.
