UniFi router or a better branded router is placed beside the TV. All computers and devices access the Internet via WiFi. Is this practical? Is it a common practice? Or is it more practical to connect at least one computer via Ethernet?

Bro, many have answered your question on your other thread. The bottom line is YES, IT IS PRACTICAL. You don't need to connect at least one computer via Ethernet. Just buy a good router that have great coverage. That is it.

i think it will not becoz i'm no longer hardcore torrent user 24/7 never shutdown laptop

if minimal activity maybe this router c1200 is stable

Just check still not include, still no rm50 special discount n free voice std20, will check again later


I comlaint to mcmc n got a call fr tm for the upgrade, the lady said i will get what i requested. Funny part is during live chat, the agent said also i will get the package as per request. I told her if she can see the report it is stated clearly there, then she ask me for a moment. Come back she gave me another reason tat i must already had the voice package b4 upgrade in order to get it free.

Any good websites to download/stream 4K movies?

Note: All router settings will reset after updating to new firmware, please backup the configuration at Advanced, Sytem Tools, Backup&Restore, update the the new correct firmware and restore the configuration later. Much less trouble.

Update: So far, beta firmware for c1200 EU v1 = been torrenting for 18 hours and still hasn't encounter random reboot.....

SPI Firewall, ALGs, NAT Boost etc etc...

I only disable Print Server and WPS at System Parameter.

SPI Firewall activated.
ALG all checked
NAT Boost enabled
Folder Share enabled, plugged 64Gb pendrive to the USB.
UPNP active = manual portforwarding can be a hassle.
IPV6 enabled
OpenVPN server enabled = often use this functionality to vpn back home when I was at work (before getting layoff )
DDNS = got few D-Link adsl routers which have free DlinkDns services, used the account with C1200.
Enabling TxBF for 5Ghz wifi.

Lowyat forum seems to load a bit slower with IPV6 previously.

I read NAT Boost/ acceleration should be disabled for speed less than 100mbps.

TM just gave me Archer C1200 yesterday and I updated the Firmware , WRONGLY to international version instead of Malaysia TM Unifi firmware. Everything still works, only the IPV6 settings all gone.

Is it possible to update the firmware back to Malaysia version ?
