Nah bro. The wifi extender can only get the signal from the router wirelessly, and not via cable. That can only work with powerline as I say earlier.

Powerline is like wifi extender, but it uses the power of your house (electrical power). It comes in two pairs. One pair is connected to your router via cable, and the other pair with wireless function will be like a wifi extender, but better. However, if your house is three phase wiring, then it won’t be so good and you better stick with extender. See here for more info:

i just installed 30mbps bonanza package 2 days ago.  can I use this promo to upgrade to 100mbps at RM 20?

Hmm...I dont really use the phone anyway plus my STB broke years ago. Guess it won't affect me if I turn down the offer and take Rm139. Same speed but less Rm20.

I also asked 100, it's the same answer, though it's much easier and logical to just migrate in my opinion. Plus, I can get a new STB to replace my broken one 

Then we have 2 possible scenarios in here:

1. It's perpetual discount, but only for internet package. Hypp TV package is different story.
2. It's perpetual discount for both packages.

Let's say if any arguments happen in future, TM may go by the official statement from the SMS, then Zi-Tech is correct. Jumbo pack 1st year is free. After that, you need to pay. CS might have said that the price remain the same, but it's possible that they themselves confused or misunderstood the T&C. It's the same old thing happened again, where the TM staff kelam kabut and giving false info whenever a new promotion plan was introduced.

If the scenarios 1 is true, then I have to reject the offer since the 2nd year amount will be higher than my current package price (50mbps TQ surprise). I do admit that 100mbps at RM189 is tempting, but RM60 Jumbo pack is not worthy especially if one don't watch it.

Anyway, since the dateline is end of the year, I guess I have to wait and see what's the story in the next few days/weeks, then only decide. No rush in here.

Frankly speaking, I don't like the way of TM doing this promotion. SMS different story, 100 CS line different story, TM point different story. Apa macam pattern pun ada.  TM should have put a public announcement on their website or facebook or twitter, and elaborate everything in details. So we the customers could understand easily. No more questions, no more wonders, no more confuse. Why the hell TM couldn't do this simple task and make everyone's life easier? Really face palm.

Dude, do you know the difference between revenue and profit? Profit from the link you sent is about 1 billion a year. On 11 billion costs/spend. Maybe about 10%. If you consider that exorbitant profit then... I really dunno what to say.

Eventually once coverage is much better their profits will go up, but currently while they're rolling out fibre to more and more areas their profits won't be very much at all. It's darn expensive to put infra up. Not to mention the cost of the actual bandwidth itself...

Yes I started with RM149 VIP5 4 years ago, and go the free upgrade before budget announcement. Never got the RM169 offer some others got back then, so stayed at 10/10 when others were moving up to 30/10 and then 50/20.

Now 'upgraded' to RM139 with another 2 year contract, without calls. I get 150 free minutes to all from my mobile telco, my wife also the same, so calls not important. Save RM20 a month better.

Beginning the start of the contract (either new contract or renewed contract), most of your equipment are given a 1-year warranty. This means your Hypptv device (STB), router and phone. Your modem (BTU/ONU) is lifetime warranty. I am not sure about the controller though. I don't think there is any warranty on the cable or wiring.

The Hypptv device is pretty limited in terms of capability and speed. If you want to max out your Hypptv subscription, you may wish to buy your own STB (set top box).
