Personally, i sack out tm's l7 router and replaced with TP Link Archer C7v2. C7v2 also has some problem with the latest firmware where the 5ghz wireless signal always drops although there is no wireless interference from my neighbor (most of my neighbor using 2.4ghz according to my wifi analyzer. Have to reboot the router every 7 days. Through ethernet (cable) connection, the router performs at its best.

Yes, that's one of the problems with Archer C7v2. It's a very stable router but its 5GHz band is very fickle, and unstable at worse. That's why I have disabled the 5GHz band in my router. Ethernet is still the gold standard for a great connection anyway.

I agree. Sometime my iPhone 7 Plus cannot connect to the 5ghz band from the router. Even if it is connected, the phone automatically connect to the 2.4ghz band. Guess 5ghz band is unstable in the latest firmware of c7v2. Too bad when there is no after market firmware apart from openwrt.

Ah thank you for testing that out, I have the same result as well. Probably has to do with damaged undersea cables. Surprisingly I have no issue using celcom 4g internet, different routing maybe?

Most likely. Tried on Maxis 4G slow but loads OK.

My pings are slightly better than above on Unifi.

C5v2 startup very fast...the slow 1 is C1200, both are not the same model even though both are similar and both are AC1200.

With the new firmware, it had been cut down by about half for the C1200.
