QUOTE(aneip @ Dec 28 2017, 07:01 AM) The problem is TM try to maximize the profit. Instead of KISS, they play around the discount and promotion until everybody loss track. So many pricing and discount for same package. Instead of changing their package like RM189 for 100Mbps.. They maintain it for RM329 and introduce multiple type of discount with multiple amount for each type of user (based on their history).. This is hell for everyone to keep track. Agreed.i have a theory that anyone with RM150 Promo Discount and RM50 Special Discount will need to bang the call centre every month for their RM 50 missing discount. This bring trouble to Billing system. Billing system is complex product. Especially when you have spaghetti type of product. Each item will have rules and consequences. This will not visible to support user. They just pick discount/product and put into user account. Instead of pick 100Mbps upgrade.. They need to pick 100Mbps product, RM150 discount, RM 50 Discount.. All this also depend on current user package.. End of the months, when billing is generated.. Then only can know got problem or not. Long story to type, but the conclusion is.. As long as they maintain this type of product most of their support staff and billing department will be screw up.. and User will banging their desk for answer. CODE This is how unifi pricing works. Therefore you can decide whether your current package is worth more or the new one is saving you a lot of money or not. Actually, you can learn this from your billing statement, however, not everyone can understand it properly. Right now this is only catered to the consumer only not business segment. First, I will explain what is the basic.TM is selling at least a triple play products to you.Which mean you will having -An internet service -An IPTV service -A fixed voice line service -or a mobile voice line service There is no way you can enjoy just internet service without others.Internet service only or naked internet is not offered by unifi. There are three available configurations right now -Internet/Fixed Line/IPTV -Internet/Fixed Line/Mobile -Fixed Line (this is offered when a copper area is upgraded to fibre area, but customer is using normal copper telephone line) Therefore base price for every package will be as below. unifi 10 -RM 129 unifi 30 - RM199 unifi 50 - RM249 unifi 100 -RM329 This is just the base pricing, unfortunately, or not. This price is not necessarily the price that they will sell to the customers for the whole year. It is either -The price is less than the base price and offering is the same. -The price is same but the offering is not the same as the base offering, which means they add more value-added service for free. How to calculate your package value? The package value is not necessarily the amount you pay every month to TM. Every of this service is having their own base pricing. Internet unifi 10 - RM99 per month unifi 30 - RM169 per month unifi 50 - RM219 per month unifi 100 - RM299 per month Voice No voice plan - RM0.20 per minute Voice STD 20 - RM20 per month Voice STD 20 Free - RM20 per month but free IPTV Jumbo Pack -RM60 per month Jumbo Lite -RM30 per month Aneka -RM30 per month Ruby - RM30 per month Varnam - RM30 per month Sport - RM30 per month Mobile(ex-webe) - RM79 per month You can visit unifi.com.my and under your dashboard to find above details. Example: unifi Lite 10 Mbps+Aneka Pack+Voice STD 20 Free RM99+RM30+RM20 = RM 149,So your pack is worth RM 149. But if you pay only RM109. That's mean you have a discount! To calculate your discount value, RM149 - RM 109 = RM 40 discount. You can verify this by looking at the line item with "Promo discount" or " Special discount" wording. These two cannot co-exist together. You will only have one type of discount on one service.[technically supported under certain condition] For "Promo discount", you may have 1 or 2 lines stating the amount of discount. If you have 2, add it up.It will be your total discount. The perpetual mean your discount is forever as long you stick with the current plan.If not perpetual, it is time-based discount which 24 months is the maximum duration. For Special discount, your discount is perpetual too. If you can understand until this point, you will understand why every one of us is having different price compared to others. Since the Thank You campaign and previous free upgrades, the package price range for every speed is widening and may intercept with the next best speed price. You may see UniFi 10 - RM99,RM109,RM119,RM129,RM139,RM149,RM159,RM169 UniFi 30 - RM139,RM149,RM159,RM169,RM179,RM189,RM199,RM209,RM219,RM229,RM239,RM249 UniFi 50 - RM189,RM199,RM209,RM219,RM229,RM239,RM249 UniFi 100 - RM239,...RM299,RM309,RM319,RM329 *Some of the prices may not exist at all, this is just for illustration. So every time TM does a promotion and the price is lower than the right side, the customer on the right side mostly will be complaining and this is normal. To change the plan or not, that is a different story. |

QUOTE(cybpsych @ Dec 28 2017, 08:16 AM) Broadnet’s moves raise concern with TM, TNB This is Deja Vu, remember when HSBB project wants to launch, there was a company from Pahang was said to get the project.https://www.thestar.com.my/business/busines...-raise-concern/ PETALING JAYA: The aggressive moves by Broadnet Network Sdn Bhd, the company selected by the Government to undertake the Nationwide Fiberisation Plan (NFP), have raised concerns on government-linked companies (GLCs), namely Telekom Malaysia Bhd and Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB). According to sources, both the GLCs are seeking more information from the Government before they engage with Broadnet. “For starters, TNB wants to know for sure if the Government has a golden share in Broadnet and if they are compelled to collaborate with the company,” said the sources. As for TM, it was learnt that top officials of the dominant provider of high-speed broadband have sought meetings with the Finance Ministry on the matter. At the moment, TM’s mainstay is providing broadband connectivity. Towards this end, it has undertaken the High Speed Broadband (HSBB) project for several years and continued to roll out broadband connectivity. “In some ways, Broadnet would be a competitor to TM. So it is only natural for the company to seek clarification as TM itself is indirectly owned by the Government through Khazanah Nasional Bhd,” said a source. |

QUOTE(sHawTY @ Jan 2 2018, 10:05 AM) As mentioned previously, there's nothing else you can do with the 2.4GHz 100Mbps can be achieved via 2.4Ghz but both ways (transceiver and receiver) need to support the exact Modulation & Coding (MSC Index) which is Broadcom's proprietary, not the wireless standard but since the most device is only 2x2, you will not get 100Mbps on 2.4Ghz.Even if you use the most expensive ASUS router which is the GT-AC5300, you still won't get 100Mb/s on 2.4GHz 100Mb/s can only be achieved with 5GHz It's the limitation of 2.4GHz devices Normally on 1 spatial stream, it can only support up to 72Mbps.If u include the overhead and transmission lost it will be less than 50Mbps per stream. Most users are fixated on the transceiver part, that the receiver part must be supported too. This post has been edited by Xefron: Jan 2 2018, 10:32 AM |

When I reading first about the NFP, I thought it will be the same as Australian NBN programme but after more and more news came out, I don't think it will follow like NBN.Where there's is one company will manage the dark fibre as access network which I assumed is TNB but looks like it will be not like that.Where others ISP will ride on these dark fibres to provide the connection to the customer.
