Hi. I have Unifi and I can get 50 mbps easy. With a VPN set on router AC68U, the best I got was 18 mpbs, a 65% reduction in speed. What are you people getting?

woohoo it is coming
what a way 2 start the deepavali day and probably the best deepavali gift I ever gotten in lifetime appointment is next Tuesday which is exactly 1 day before deepavali [attachmentid=9227905] I trade off celcom gold plus for unifi advance plus which is the best decision ever made |

QUOTE(NyOx @ Oct 12 2017, 01:10 AM) I have played around the setting like location etc with my VPN. And the best download I could get was 18 mbps on an Unifi 50 mbps line. On AES-256. Set on Asus AC68U router.I am just wondering what others are getting or to be more correct, how much % reduction in speed with their vpn. |

QUOTE(skylinelover @ Oct 12 2017, 09:25 AM) woohoo it is coming So you still can register new 50Mbps plan? Or relocated from somewhere? I relocated my 50Mbps to my sister's house, so she is enjoying the discounted package like I used to have.what a way 2 start the deepavali day and probably the best deepavali gift I ever gotten in lifetime appointment is next Tuesday which is exactly 1 day before deepavali [attachmentid=9227905] I trade off celcom gold plus for unifi advance plus which is the best decision ever made |

QUOTE(SilentVampire @ Oct 11 2017, 11:30 PM) Depends la bro. If your house have three-phase wiring or if the electrical wiring is old or not wired properly, powerline won't be a good option. I'm also staying in a 3 floor but my powerline is unreliable as my house have three-phase wiring. So far, it's still okay but I'm thinking of eventually having an access point on each floor. Same. Triple story with 3 phase wiring. So what i did is i put Main router 1st floor. Both APs on ground floor and 2nd floor. I pull rj45 to each floor. Fullspeed all time |

QUOTE(Icehart @ Oct 12 2017, 05:54 AM) Your best choice is Singapore server. Malaysia server generally has low bandwidth due to the pricing of bandwidth here. You are absolutely correct. Singapore's server gives best result but it can't be used for P2P. Which Asian country server you think is as good or better than Singapore's? Vietnam? Thailand? Or which vpn would you recommend? I have experiment with many providers but my best is still IPVanish. However none of the VPN can beat full speed of UniFi P2P. Which Asian country server you think is as good or better than Singapore's? Vietnam? Thailand? Or which vpn would you recommend? You can try Hong Kong too. They allow P2P and the speed is more or less the same as Singapore's. |

I do realize speed will take a hit with router vpn but a 65% hit?You can try Hong Kong too. They allow P2P and the speed is more or less the same as Singapore's. On vpnarea, Hong Kong/Korea/Japan speed is not good bad. May be I will check out IPVanish. Which IPVanish server? Thanks This post has been edited by touristking: Oct 12 2017, 01:12 PM |
