1. unable to connect to maybank2u app via phone, need to switch to data/4g then only can access.
2. unable to access to linkedin (intermittent), plus few other apps, solution is to switch to data/4g.

current DNS setting is using google dns. should i stick to unifi dns 202.188.18.188,
OR is it just me having this issue..

No probs with maybank2u app, don't use LinkedIn. Unifi 50mbps, Google DNS, ipv4 only.

If your ipV6 is ON, switch it OFF and try again.

yah seems like TM kedekut give that tabung anyway. You got TP-Link C1200? Is quite good enough?
*
I'm currently using the TP Link C3150 that I bought myself but my gf's house is using the TP Link C1200 and it's very stable so far, with the latest firmware and coverage is very good as well.

I have been using DIR850L since the first day. so far so good. wonders what kind of problems people are facing with this router until they called it rubbish bin.
*
Wifi coverage is bad and multiple vulnerabilities have been reported so far, so you'll have to update the firmware yourself ASAP as the new firmware for TM has been released. Can't really trust D-Link products anymore as most of their products are full of vulnerabilities, even their premium routers, and I used to be a fan of their products. See here:
https://www.stuff.tv/sg/news/these-d-link-r...vulnerabilities

QUOTE(VeeJay @ Oct 10 2017, 12:12 AM)
exactly..... similar to you, we are one of few who feel 850L had been serving well.
I hv posted some number beginning of the year...i can get connect like 100 ft away, easily.

even when i  go to my 3rd house on the row, Im still connected to my wifi...

to me this is one of the best router TM had given

Yes, but you'll need to update your firmware ASAP as I mentioned above, and my trust in their products is very low at the moment. See here : https://www.stuff.tv/sg/news/these-d-link-r...vulnerabilities

The tabung D850L serves me well. Although the router wifi coverage is lower. It supports my 100mbps connection easy. I am using my own, that i use to replace d-link615 previously.

My experience with TP-link c1200 (supplied) by TM is really bad. The speed always drop to 1-2 MBps and require nearly daily reboot.

Compare to D850, I reboot may be once in 6mths.

Due to vulnerability I really like to change my router but I need to get the best set-up for TP-link. Can someone point me to any page or guide to optimise this router. The wifi coverage is good, but speed slow.

anyone change location of their BTU within their house?

my case is that im staying in a 2 storey bungalow and the FTP in my house this in the living room. and wifi at the location to the entire house in not ideal.

Planning to buy 30m fiber optic cable and relocate the BTU and wifi router to a more suitable location .

will that work?

Good morning, just installed unifi replacing maxis fiber at my home.

Just want to ask sifu2 here, how to access my NAS from outside? I did set up port forwarding on my router (using Asus rt-ac68u), but still cant access it. Last time when using Maxis they changed my ip from private to public IP, but when i called unifi hotline they said my ip already public one.

please advice blush.gif

Unifi should be all public IP. Not enough information from you to troubleshoot. You should test whether you can access your NAS internally first (is it on a fixed IP?) before trying from outside. Once it is accessible internally then you make sure the right port forwarding is happening, then make sure you're trying to access the right public IP.

Thanks for your reply, and yup my nas already configured to internal fixed ip. Am using Synology DS-216j, which I register with its own DDNS service. I configure it to use port 8080, which is same one I set inside my router's port forwarding panel. Or should it be using different port?

DDNS can take a while to update (try to ping the hostname and see if you get the right IP, from outside your network of course). Can access the synology internally on your LAN?

You can configure the synlogy to use any port, but your router's forward-to port must match, of course. Your router's external port depends what service you're running, if your client to access can use it.

weird. cause for me, my whole house is able to connect to the wifi. even the garage porch and even outside the front gate while enjoying some cigarettes, i'll still able to connect to the wifi. it is only the matters of choosing which one to connect, either 2.4ghz or 5ghz. perhaps the positioning of the router is less ideal or my house is too small ? tongue.gif tongue.gif

I see. the problems is more towards the advanced users. for average users like me, this is nothing major. We dont keep anything important or really sensitive in our computers. And I always have the habit of login in to router homepage and checking the connected users. if unknown user is connected, it just a matter of changing password.

Nope, previous i'm using TM router. Grey colour. Now they gave me new one. D-link. Black colour. Don't know anything about router. Haha
*
er, if you are using previous TM router, why are they charging you RM53 confused.gif
their router cannot support 50Mbps is their fault ma, some more they already tied you to a new 2 yrs contract

you might want to request to waive the RM53 when charged to your bill

I know la bro. I'm using that as I have the budget and I want to see if TP Link higher priced router are comparable with Asus higher priced one, and it's actually not too bad. I like it so far. Just get the TP Link C1200 as it's very stable and reliable as I said.

Yes, you can get it from TM but you might have to renew your contract with them, or just say your current router is spoiled lol.
