Dear all, i am currently looking into Persona or Iriz as my second daily car for working purpose. I have a saga flx, but the cvt is kind of like a nightmare to me, and without safety features like the persona, as i am traveling long distance always. I have a big concern about the cvt, will it still jerk kao kao during low speed and bad traffic time? or only minimal jerk? tried new iriz 2017 showroom car, seems like the improved the cvt a lot, cant test the jerk during low speed because there is no bad traffic at that time. appreciate for ur feedback and many thanks in advance.

QUOTE(Maxwell6635 @ Sep 30 2017, 11:48 AM) Hi I also coming from Previous Saga FLX Cvt owner, I can tell you new persona and new facelift iriz the cvt is no more jerk kao kao like saga flx , is improved a lot from previous. What I can comment the jerk is reduced very minimal until u wont noticed there was a jerk. I always facing traffic so I tested start and stop from traffic jam it won't jerk like saga flx like someone ur car want to jump. My current flx CVT really give me big headache bro. Did clutch adaptation, better a bit but last me for a week only. Really nightmare. I tested the new iriz also. Didn't notice any jerks, but I did joined the the group. Some member described the jerk in new persona like in my flx. Omg. Worries me.

QUOTE(Maxwell6635 @ Sep 30 2017, 04:08 PM) Erm saga flx cvt even u did clutch adaptation still will jerk as per design + software proton provide on that time is dont mature enough so that why alot of problem. But this new persona is best tuned cvt clutch design with the software, its smooth no more jerk like saga flx. If the member feel jerk might be is because they straight away press gas pedal from stopped in traffic jam or there are some problem in gearbox Yea lo bro, because when I tried the test drive unit new iriz. Seriously I can't feel any jerk, if jerk also very minimal and acceptable. Guess I can be rest assured with the new improved model hehe.

QUOTE(tctham @ Feb 8 2018, 03:26 AM) have not gotten my persona yet, but from my past experience with silverstone m3 in my saga BLM days, it really couldn't make it.. i plan to trade in those tires asap for michelin.. (provided i have the funds tho) Same goes to my saga flx sv.. The Silverstone m3 is rubbish.. the wet grip is hopeless

QUOTE(slinchua @ Feb 12 2018, 07:45 AM) New to this thread Having a graphite grey AT standard Have some issue with my persona. So am I the only one feel the jerk when moving from initial, is this can be fix? And the fuel consumption , anyway to improve? I'm not like heavy right footed, but then I still get 11km/litre. Btw ,the headlight feel like not tht bright tho,any pnp recommendation? That jerk is standard for this clutch based CVT.. u need sometimes to get use to it.

QUOTE(amscouzach57 @ Feb 13 2018, 09:40 AM) What to do. Really had a near miss accident using those silverstone tyres. Won't take any chances there. Changed the tyres on the first day I got the car. Since my initial budget was for a Subaru Forester for the wife (wife decided on the Persona on the night before purchase, so I got some funds to splurge a bit on the car (changed rims & tyres, installed window tint, custom floor mats, door visors, boot tray on the first day). Nway, I've changed my tyres to Michelin PS3 for rm220 per piece (195/55R15) inclusive alignment & balancing (exclusive GST). PJT Tyre Service Sdn Bhd at Glenmarie Shah Alam Ya bro, I had the same experience like you also, almost had a accident due to the stupid tyres. That's why I'm looking for any recommendations here where can trade in our shitty stock tyres! PS3 definitely it's a good tyres.. but I'm also looking at Bridgestone re003 because it has got the size I want hehe

QUOTE(hilmisidek @ Feb 16 2018, 10:18 PM) Just got mine yesterday. New 2018 model sterling silver. I can feel the jerk and asked the s.a. He told me it is common during initial drive. It is true, after you start cruising no jerk anymore. I think it is cvt thingy. Because my wife's new brv also feel the same thing. Honda brv feels smoother and less delay. As proton CVT uses clutch CVT.. so no way proton can eliminate the clutch engage and disengage feel.. but the persona CVT is a huge improvement over first batch iriz n saga flx!

QUOTE(-Aktan- @ Feb 20 2018, 12:11 PM) It's the CVT noise Anyway for those who want to gauge the actual fc, you have to calc manually.. the trip computer is really far inaccurate yea i guess so too.. mostly contributed by the cvt itself.. but also a lot better than my saga flx

QUOTE(amscouzach57 @ Mar 7 2018, 02:59 PM) anybody had modified the accelerator pedal to give it a more responsive feeling? I still find it unacceptable, that you still get a 1~2 second delay for the car to move after pressing the pedal from stop or idle position. there is too much travel for the accelerator pedal when pressing the pedal before the car will move. That's not throttle delay but rather the clutch is engaging like your are driving a manual car

QUOTE(amscouzach57 @ Mar 9 2018, 09:26 PM) Agreed. In fact, my saga flx does not have this noticeable delay as much as this persona. If I'm not mistaken, the tranny should be similar albeit the different tweaks. This delay could spell disaster during split second movements especially from idle or stop go traffic. Even the brake pedal travels a lot before it bites (eventhough previously air was bled out during service to reduce the amount of travel). My friend who did the mechanical mod for the throttle response in his Suprima S recommended me to search for a guy named Azam Akmal in the Campro Group. He's the expert in this. My only concern if this will affect the warranty, to what extent? Seriously??? My flx delays so much and jerks like crazy! Lol.. Feels like riding horse sometimes during Low speed

QUOTE(tctham @ Mar 18 2018, 08:48 AM) Done servicing.. Really good service at Senaxis, not really big place but at least staff are friendly.. Can walk to LRT station and go elsewhere if lazy wait at Service center.. Water sprinkler position now nice nice Added cabin filter (RM25) Mentioned to them throttle response lag.. Remapped and now faster d. Easier to drive. Gears is standard apparently.. no issues there (means driver issue lol) my water sprinkler position also too low.. need to highlight them during 1st service too

QUOTE(fantasy1989 @ Mar 18 2018, 02:27 PM) previous persona handling superb yea bro.. really better.. as i am driving the new nana.. i tell the old nana is way way better.. significantly.. but the new nana isnt bad, its actually quite good too for a torsion bar setup.. and the car feels super solid! more solid than ever.. just some on n off rattling, guess its normal nowadays, even the new myvi or luxury has it.. If u want good handling with the new nana, change the stock laoya silverstone, lousy wet drip.. even dry grip also SOSO only.. This post has been edited by ZaiZai1989: Mar 18 2018, 09:53 PM

Just went for 1st service. Poured in fully EO, asked them to adjust the water nozzle too, my TCU n ECU firmware also latest.
But immediately after the service, engine noise very much quieter now, more subtle.. also less jerky.. overall drive a lot smoother..
