Change from 3 years old Altis to Persona just for safety? Quite non sense if you ask me. How do you know persona is safer? Because of the safety rating? If yes Persona even safer than Camry, but do you believe it?

A SERIOUS QUESTION.

I would like to have the members opinion regarding the dilemma I'm facing now.

I'm currently owning 2014 Toyota Altis 1.8G (no monthly commitment).

What do you say, is it a wise choice, if I let go of Altis, and get myself a 2017 Proton Persona Premium?

Safety wise, Persona tops Altis at reasonable price.

Safety wise, yes, new persona safer than ur altis bcoc ESC. But be prepared with inferior finishing quality compared to ur altis, not life threatening though


1.6L is enough for me. Main reason being is that I feel like paying more for things that i don't need.

What do u mean? Ur altis no hutang already. Is it maintenance, insurance? Roadtax xbnyk beza between 1.6 and 1.8

Only safety specs win abit , persona lost on engine comparison side to side. 

For those who upgrade your EO to syn3000 7000.. always remember to ask for the bottle to bring home...

I suspect after paid extra they still use 800se. My sc here are quite big, we're not allowed to go into svc area.

For a far I saw they still use grey bottle for me, even Im paying for 3000. If any proton svc ppl lurk here.. hope they see this.

yes i did, because after this week i will be over 6month period, and all SC are full due to holiday season. Not to mention they charge me washer fluid for RM 6.70 without telling me. can say i was at fault not checking during payment.

For those who dont want to be ripped off like me, follow 100% on this link, they cant over charge you or top up anything without your conscience. someone recommend me this SC and is near my house so i let my guard down.

Please be very aware proton charge you RM 60 per work hour. that SC charge me RM66 so i was con. This is the so called bad sales service.  total i spent RM210 just for an oil change, is terribly expensive.

sad to say this is the bad part owning a proton, i sent my myvi to SC i trust them fully and still the maintenance was cheaper for a 4 year old car oil change.

And one thing... The cvt lag is so so so serious compared to my 12 yrs old car😂

Usb slot on player use for music streaming. 

CVT lag is normal for persona, but the lag is better than previous generation which been used in Saga FLX. U might can try do clutch adaptation on yourself in front page have the tutorial or refer to SC to help you.

BTW you won't expect it will immediately get the response and power, you required to adapt with it. If your 12 yrs old car is iswara or drive by cable throttle then when u switch to persona u will experience response delay, as new persona is drive by wire.

Dear All, seeking your kind advice urgently.. sorry if my notes being too messy and our speculation sounded too naive, just try to get peace of mind

My elder brother recently bought a brand new Persona Premium, everything went too smoothly until the 2nd day of driving.
- Loan disbursed and down-payment paid on 27 November 2017. Car dealer said they would placed order for the new car on same day.
- We were notified on 7th Dec 2017 (8PM) that our brand new persona arrives and can be collected on 8th Dec 2017. Was rather happy as it arrives sooner than expected.
- On the 8th Dec, my father collected the car on behalf of my brother as he was outstation.
- My father only drives the car home and never touch it thereafter. At that point, there was nothing wrong with the car.
- On 2nd day when my brother returned, he fetch us to dinner and immediately we were struck by the weird sound from the rear of the car.
(the sound sounded like "ker-lok ker-lok ker-lok" just like something hitting the rear or the bottom of car, even when the car was moving at slow pace the sound persists, just much slower)
- My brother told me that this sounded like the test drive car he droves at the car dealer place.
- There is unpleasant firecrackers smell when we stop the car (the test drive car we drove that day having the same smell as well).

Long story short, we are now suspecting the car dealer may have given us the test drive car instead of brand new car, because:
- it's too soon that the car dealer managed to get a brand new car within 1.5 weeks time
- the weird sound and firecrackers issue is totally the same as per the test drive car (i've never seen anyone complained about these issue in this thread, which indicates that this is uncommon).
- The colour of test drive car is the same option that my brother chosen.
- When we called the salesperson to highlight the issue, he himself brought it up first and reassure to us that the car he given to us is not test drive unit (make things more fishy as we have yet to make allegation on that point just yet).
Appreciate if you guys could share how could we detect whether this car is totally brand new or test drive unit.. billion of thanks! 

First of all , when you collected the car is the mileage is above 50km ? and could you please check your service and warranty booklet, when is the pre delivery inspection cop and date?

Secondly, if you find out many abnormal sound you can straight away go to Proton SC , they check for you. Next is, if you not satisfied you could address all this issues to Proton I Care , call them and make a complaint.
