I'm planning on migrating to Australia via ( 189 ) skills visa . I'm having some headaches , it would be greatly appreciated if someone could provide me some pointers or point me to the correct direction . I've read through the migration guidelines and have a brief idea but still hoping all those with experience could help enlighten me with their experience and hopefully this thread would assists others in their future migration to Aus.

I'm collecting my documents for my skills assessments .

If I'm not mistaken , I would need to certify true copy of all my photocopied Certificates ( Degree , Diploma , etc ) , where is the best place to do this ? FYI , I am currently located in Penang.

As for the employment reference , the first company that I've worked before has already been closed down. From what I read , I'm a software engineer ( ACS Website ) states that I need a Affidavit with supporting documents .
I searched through google and the results I found was to go the public notary from the list ->> . [ List of Public Notary Penang


Another question is that would I need to make an appointment with the public notary firm and bring my previous manager in together to sign the affidavit in front of the notary officer ? How much would it costs ?


If anyone got any agents to intro , please do list here or pm me . Would like to know my options , haha .

PS . I am still currently at the documents collecting stage , if anyone can help on providing more info on steps later is greatly appreciated.

All I did to certify my documents was to get a lawyer friend to sign it and stamp with certified true copy. There's a list somewhere on the border website of people who can certify documents.

I can't really help with the 2nd question as I've got no experience. I suppose you could always call up the assessing authority and ask what they need.

The migration is based on points system, right? How many points are required? And what if you cannot get enough point?

60 points minimum, if you can't get enough points then you can't get PR. Period.

how about getting a migration visa first?

This point system is for getting the visa. Too bad I don't have enough points.
