I go check up at private hospital, they gave me a book to record my pregnancy progress, it's not the same format as the Buku Merah given at Klinik Kesihatan though. But IF emergency and the nearest is a gov hospital, I don't think they will turn you away if you don't have the buku merah. It would help if you have a record of your pregnancy progress though.
