I recv the pre-employment medical check after my second interview for amex. They called me for this position as a customer service agent for their card services. If the med check and ref check goes well then they will be buy me out from my current company which is an outsource company that everyone want to abandon this sinking ship of misery and stupidity.

Just want to ask, anyone who is now working there or worked there before to share about the culture, management stupidity level (Yeah..i wonder why all management are stupid),people around there and some detail about it.

I have a search and previouslly there are 2 topic but it is abit not so in detail ,mostly about MBB merger which is out of the question of my topic.Hehe

I am not a freshie in customer service, been in this industry about 2 years.
Maybe some insider comment?

Nevermind for negative comment, because now i really need all of your review and feedback to make my decision to stay or leave coz both stay or leave is ok with me also.

about the offer and etc is up to my expectation,i am more conern about how things get done over there.

Well, all I can say about Amex is, you will feel that time will fly very fast when u work there. There are lots of activities going on bi -weekly or monthly. As long as you participate, you will have lots of fun from it. The management is very open here. I'm lucky that im under such a good manager. We can talk like buddies and he is more people approach which is the only reason that I like him. Colleagues are all very helpful and all the EL, AL, MC leaves are a lot compare to other companies... Career advancement is very possible as they having training and workshop for every employee very frequently. Don't worry when you have been selected to work in this fun company, I can rest assured you wont find any company as good as this one outside. Happy working!

from my point of view is:
the pros of working in amex :
-is a good experience...
- better pay than the average rate.
-lot of activity- deduct from ure salary a min fee.

but the cons are:
- they are too rigid with their rules i.e: hv to log in on time, their grading sys- its like school kids need to score A to get their sweets. and thts how they are treating the staff with their bias grading. if u brownnose alot u will hv better grading from the TL.
-lot of brownoser
- lot of gossip/backstabber-customer service/call ctr ma, tends to hv lot of girls-majority indian-lol.
-and many more...

overall its a good company with benefits above than most of the co.

chers n allthe best

Overall, AmEx is a great place to work. Well balance in the sense of goal setting, interaction/communication between the different level & equal opportunity.

Every company has pros & cons..depends on how you look at the cons. This is a Fortune 500 company..the expectation is integrity, accountable & serving the interest of the customers.

If you are a person who likes to "cari pasal"..m very sure where ever you go, your reporting Manager will pin his/her finger on you.

Good luck !

All the best, DDS...If is AmEx you are going, go prepare...there will be writing test, most importantly during the interview process..speak simple English...w/o the "lar", "leh"..etc After all, they are not hiring Shakespear to handle call centre/customer service job.

What do you mean by "work with them end of the year" ? Generally, is a good place to go if you are a newbie joining the work force.
