 use apple remote with winxp?, any software for media center controls?

Was just wondering if its possible to use the Apple Remote for Windows xp or Windowsxp Media Center?

Want to use it to control the PC attached to the TV to watch downloaded movies.

umm actually i want to use it on a WINDOWS PC. not a mac. the pc is connected to the TV.

maybe add a USB IR port to the pc?

Sorry but I don't think it's possible to make the Apple Remote work with Windows PCs. Maybe some special software will make it work someday who knows hehe.

Try google for Girder. But need to make sure that u r having IR receiver, not IRDA, coz IRDA has very short transmission distance.

one more thing, any idea where can i buy an IR receiver and how much would it cost?

just buy a windows remote :S
the apple remote + receiver will work out very expensive!
although you could try low yat.. they'll have some in the mobile phone floor (from when data used to be transferred by IR) or in one of the biiig stores.

no no, i already have an apple remote from the macbook
just thought its not put to use sitting on a shelf since who in their right mind use a remote on a laptop when you are at the laptop smile.gif
