even this has a clause for withdrawing consent. does it apply to digital forum? or is there another equivalent for it?

other forums i see are able to delete user account without issue, so seem it would be that not doing so is being done for another reason? hmm.gif

the suggestion of not using account no longer needed, is hardly the same as no longer allowing data of the users previous/existing content tied to that account to remain indefinitely on your database they no longer want to be part of.

that is a serious privacy concern for users who no longer want their content on your database to be publicly available. so to callously suggest not use the account any longer as a solution is rather condescending to the real problem of why people need to delete their account in the first place shakehead.gif

I`m pretty sure it`s against PDPA of some sort. Not deleting unused data for database integrity is not technically wise.

Might even total ban the account.

asked bout pdpa on these... they don't intervene if the website/forum is not for commercial use ie, selling user information.. heck if gomen website display full name, ic phone, pdpa also cannot act.

I actually disagree. You should be responsible for what you wrote, hence why the integrity part of the FAQ was highlighted. Or else people would just come here, do some sketchy stuff and senang2 ask for their account to be deleted.
