Hi everyone.
This month I saw TM busying to install this black box on every telephone pole, is it unifi FDP?
As some of my neighbour said this is streamyx 8mbs wire.

QUOTE(twL @ Aug 27 2017, 10:22 PM) I also got keep complaint to MCMC since last August or July, but TM told me they cant provide Unifi at my address due to technical issue and MCMC said they cant force TM to provide Unifi at my address even the address same row as me but different street number at around 200m far away already got UNifi. Cant see the cable clearly as the it already hang on the telephone pole. But very lucky on around 2 weeks ago i saw a booth at my entrance and some houses near me already got incomplete fibre cable on the pole. Not sure is it because of my complaint. Now jz wish they can faster done the fibre cable installation. In this 2 weeks jz saw they each day do a bit… Hopefully can get Unifi on next month. ^^ I tot if hv extra cable usually is for Unifi. The new cable doesn't hv yellow color? |

QUOTE(twL @ Aug 27 2017, 11:57 PM) Hopefully u still got chance to get Unifi Lite via copper line (or name VDSL? not sureabout it). If not i believe TM wont spend money and time to update to the same thing… Ya... otherwise I really have no idea what cable that TM put on every street and install that black box on every pole. |

QUOTE(AjkR06 @ Aug 28 2017, 05:14 PM) Yes. They told me that my area project will start somewhere in early 2019 and will complete in the end of 2019. Actually, my area falls under subb coverage, not hsbb. Currently they are actively installing the new vdsl cabinet all around my area but suprisingly my taman are the only three taman that was leave out for the cabinet upgrade I heard that vdsl only for unifi lite. Let said if my area later got vdsl cabinet rather than FTTH, is it means I will unable to subscribe unifi 30mbps?Dont think TM later will laid fibre cable again. |

QUOTE(ClarenceT @ Aug 29 2017, 06:56 AM) SUBB project design spec is 20Mbps. It is VDSL2, better than VDSL. I think the cabinet that TM set up near my house is for unifi because I saw laser warning sign on it. But the black box is put on every pole which different from white box which only place on selected pole.So the cabinet (FTTC) shall be within 1km from customer's premises. Technically you may get higher speed (>50Mbps, max ~300Mbps) if your premise is just less than 500m away. So in the future, they can just build more cabinets nearer to the customer premises to improve the speed. Another DSL is currently being developed and tested, the G.Fast technology will deliver up to 1Gbps (a few years from now). so ADSL -> VDSL -> G.Fast |
