Not necessary. 3G/4G depends on congestion in the area as well.

Wireless plans do not have the same restrictions as copper fixed lines such as signing long term contracts with the advantage of modem portability.

Veveonah can carry her 4G MiFi modem up the tree and enjoy fast broadband in excess of 30M speeds which copper couldn't even attain or she can install a fixed modem in her house like the B618.

To attain 30Mbps with VDSL2 in rural areas using old copper technology is a serious challenge which is where wireless 4G+ LTE stands out.

It's a Fibre Cut cable. Should be an FDP Box in the some of the poles in your area. Try to find one. If not, maybe it's still in process.

Depends on TM tho. If they can do it fast, around 1-3 months can already subscribe. If they are slow, you'll need to wait a bit if there's no progress for like 1-2 months, you can just report to MCMC to push them.

No problem but I highly suggest to contact some agents you know to double confirm whether Unifi is coming to your area. If they say it's in process, then you can rest assure.

i had a good experience when i was with streamyx 8Mbps.

tried various <RM400 modem/routers.. ping improved but just insignificant.

then i won an ASUS RT-AC86U router, and at the time i was thinking
"heck, RM1k+ router (at the time) but with streamyx 8Mbps.. what a letdown"

but since it's already available, i setup the ASUS router with the stock
TM streamyx modem (the old blue color one)..

but what do you know - it worked wonders!

ping was just standard - i forgot what it was, but not that high of an improvement,
but everything else seem to improve - youtube loading, internet connections,
file download speeds.. multiple devices connection.. terriffic.

I think TM plans to discontinue the copper line and Streamyx in my area. According to their customer service, they will discontinue Streamyx and I have to apply UNIFI.

1. Anyone else experience this? What's the process?
2. What's the best plan that one can hope for from this forced upgrade? Sigh...

They need to try harder for a proper cable management.

Yes because MCMC expected Malaysia to phase out from Copper in 2023. So, I think Malaysia will be fully fibre within 2023 something like that when this pandemic going on, it's a bit slow.

You lucky to be offered an upgrade to Fibre. Just upgrade dude. Better than Streamyx. Like tons of better. Just take 30Mbps if you're a light user.
