Hmm, I think the claymore are made to be that sturdy coz it should be a weapon that can slay the dragon mentioned in Miria story. The problem maybe was although they can forge wapon to kill the dragon, they didnt have soldier strong enough to wield it. And also, I think the Yoma are human infused with genes of dragon
