If it's a heavy application, your processor fan runs faster to avoid overheating.

I used to have a MacBook Air 11 (too small for development though) and the fan was always whining whenever the android simulator was triggered.

Install app like MacFansControl/ iStat/ Temperature Monitor and observe when the fan noise kick in, any of the sensor is above 60-70°C. Yes: Normal. If all below 60 and still loud. Send to service center for a check.

When u use Street view Gmaps the fan can spins at 4k rpm. Very frustrating. The 2017 version still the same?

Touch Bar or without touch bar for web and android development??? Previous time i think without touch bar should be fine. But considering the fan issue, scare it easily overheat due to emulator very stress the CPU.

Even running some heavy applications the 13 inch with touch bar is quiet as a mouse.
Running VMWare / Outlook and a few other apps at the same itme .. seems fine.
