Ayam went to public swim pool. notice 50% of guys swimming with T-shirt and not even proper swim attire.

Also saw a group of pandan wearing t-shirt also.

Is it fashion now or men have body issue already kah?

P/S: the swim pool i went filter rosak for few weeks due to clogged by all the fibers from the unsuitable swimming material

i am talking about T-shirts in swim pool.

p/s but i suppose those full body suits are not cheap either.

But what baffles me is, do guys really have issue going shirtless at swim pool these days? I mean, being shy?

yea, even swim trunk costs about RM70-90 nowadays . i think a full body suit like Speedo costs about 300-400

no la dude, the pool i went is in east malaysia.

i used to swear swim trunk too, but i found it a bit too indecent....and i bought a longer trunk that covers more of the thigh.

btw , what is neck chain swim attire? i google and it looks......

Actually quite true.

Usually guys don't really care about other people see their manboob, but those a bit soft usually quite self conscious ....

I think the social media has to be blamed for this.

They keep pushing the image of the ideal male body to the men, and men have become very self conscious to the point that they become "malu" if they take off their shirt in front of others.

Where as in the past, guys just don't care. My uncles generation don't even care what other think of them, fat or unfit, they just don't care.

But it has become a 'MUST" for guys to have nice body before they lose their shirts.

dude, it's not the problem of 6 packs we are talking about here.

It's about the general trend of men becoming very shy to be seen shirtless. My uncle generation don't have six packs, they got tummy etc, but they just don't care about what other people think when they loose their shirts in swimming pool.

The younger generation, due to social media and distorted self image, has become very inhibited and they think it's a MUST for a guy to have 6 packs before they go shirtless at pools.

It's the distorted self image that is troubling.

so instead of going swimming pool to get good exercise, enjoy yourself and get healthy, and without caring of what other people think,

swimming has become a place for guys to be fearful of distorted self image, or fearful of being criticized for body issue, criticized for being fat, being out of shape.

sad isn't it?

It's a privately own swimming pool which is open to public. I guess they don't dare make noise scared no customers later.

But in retrospect, it's not a good policy because their water filter always spoils. (due to the fiber from the clothes got stuck there)

Oh yea, about safety - YES

people can actually drown with T-shirt when they panic in swim pool - the entire t-shirt can actually got wrangled around the neck and choke them to death in emergency.

I forgot to mention about the dangers of wearing loose fitting T-shirt in swim pool.

In emergency, the T-shirt can actually float to the point that it will get around a person's neck and choke him. The T-shirt can also cover their entire face and smother them in emergency. want to shout also cannot due to t shirt covering their face.

This is how people DROWN in swimming pool.

I don't have the statistics, but it will be interesting to know if the people who drown at swimming pools are the ones who actually wear improper attire such as T-shirts.

Heard too many stories of people drown in swim pool ...

friend, i think you know very little about swimming pool maintenance and filter system.

Nobody wants to swim inside a murky swimming pool and the pool i usually go is now very dirty, can't see more than few meters. The filter system breaks down very often due to the public ignoring the swim attire.

First of all, you must change to proper swimming attire before entering the pool. Proper here does not mean guys have to be shirtless. For those with body issues - get a proper lycra material. You use washing machine you know already, it will clog the filter system. When the filter system is clogged, the water becomes murkier and dirtier.

Second, before entering the pool, a person must shower. Why? because of your sweat, especially those from your armpits and genital areas that hasn't been washed for one day already.
