Hi Tech Fanatic out there,

I'm using my ASUS N56V for 5 years, it's i5 with GT650M 8GB Ram, I bought it in 2012, from Low Yat Plaza 3 days right after its new launching. It's pretty cool lappy I got, my very first laptop, never bring me any problem in these 5 years time of using, zero manufacturing problem, wonderful audio quality, not to say when plug in the Sonic bass, the ambience in-room are fantastic. Bought it for watching movie and some gaming were my first intent.

I'm FPS offline gamer most of the time, playing DOTA2 as well, got no problem for the Dota2 in my ASUS baby so far, can play Crysis2, FarCry2, Battlefield2, COD 11-Bad Company(Amazing isn't), and etc...

However I'm going to buy myself a new laptop since it's 5y/o, and I'm eager into Crysis3, COD 12 and so on...

So now into the main topic, I'm fancy only for ASUS ROG, not into MSi because of its bulky, bold-black ไป™่‰ๅ— look, ILLEGEAR... maybe, the Illegear S5X looks acceptable with the GTX1070(MAX-Q, ETA in mid Aug).

I searched for so many dealer i.e. Laz*d*, jalan11 and the price are crazy, over RM10k, so I wander into Amazon.us and found out the ROG G752-series are couple thousands ringgit cheaper than us in MY, some open-box unit not even over RM8k. (USD1399-1599)

My wonder is, ASUS bought from Amazon got Global Warranty or not? Stupid question it is because as far I know-- No.

Some G752VS might about the same price as we are here, range RM10,600 to RM11,000, however its specs are marvelous: https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-ROG-G752VS-XB78...ywords=ASUS+ROG

So what do you guys thinking about this? Few problem came into my thinking are:
1. Is ROG G752-series worth it?
2. What do you guys think to buy from Amazon and get it deliver to MY or SG? Some said just use EziPos, however EziPos consist of numerous charges not to say the 6% GST
3. Is the vapor chamber cooler's performance are solid in the G752, or it's just a gimmick?
4. Why is there STRIX version in ROG family, should I get a slimmer STRIX?
5. Warranty and peace-of-mind issue if buy from Amazon?

What I love about the ROG G-7 series:
1. I love its copper aluminium and space design, the red-fire butts...AMBOI! (it is really that stunning red? Because I saw the real model and it's just orange, or any setting to turn on the red)
2. The side lining on the dashboard part, the spaceship design, the edge of the ROG logo on the right side
3. The customizable key(M1-M5) on the top-left make over looks pro

Any criticize are acceptable as it may brought me stop thinking about the pricey stuff and save my money.

Sorry guys, I'm just a wonder-baby confused.gif , when I go shop, stars rclxub.gif are just came into my consideration and calculation, and this pricy laptop... will cost me 2-3 months of my saving.

Many thanks!

Import duty and GST usually already calculated upfront when you buy things from amazon if they ship the item directly to Malaysia. If you're using package forwarding, you may need to cough up with GST (guess no import duty for computer).

If I'm not mistaken before you check out they will calculate tax etc too and if arrive and you get taxed more than the amount when you checked out you can contact Amazon and they'll reimburse you the extra.

I've check with the import duty, there's no charges for laptop and computer, only 6% GST incurred in this case.

Yup, they do ship to Malaysia. The concern is, with the shipping fees included, it's almost the same price it sell in MY, and the fees aren't include the GST and custom charges(if any)...
Somemore somesaid it's 80-90% of lost item during the shipping, if buy the shipping insurance... the final price will be...

The final price does include all the charges including shipping and taxes. USD137.91 is the cost for taxes and clearance.

U better buy laptop with local warranty because most probably M'sia service center for the major brands usually don't honor AP @ international set. I bet u have to to return the laptop to Amazon back in case got problem or to claim warranty.. I do have experience buying Msi laptop, which is an AP set & got unlucky due to the laptop itself is a lemon unit. I sent the laptop to the Msi service center and they just refused to honor my U.S set warranty. Really frustrated by that because I didn't know prior buying the laptop about the condition of warranty coverage with the local service center. cry.gif

If u want the best warranty & after-sale service for gaming laptops, buy from either Dell (Alienware) or Illegear. These are the best brands for aftersale service in M'sia AFAIK.... Good luck with Asus because it has the worse after sale service in M'sia. Heck, u can even find a special thread here in lowyat mobile computing section about Asus warranty service where many users complaining how shitty it is.... Other brands I dont know. Msi isn't really that good either as I already been there several times.

Warranty wise, as per reply by dinbk90 above, many manufacturers do not give international warranty on their products. So, if you need to do a warranty claim, no other choice other than sending it back to the states. Postage should be from your pocket money not the manufacturer.
