I'm trying to find out how feasible for me to be regularly making videos like this:

What are the recommended cameras to record that kinda video? Appreciate if I can get a cheapest option & a decent option.

I have a Xiao Yi, is it possible to achieve something similar to that video if I don't mind the fish-eye lens?

Besides the camera, what are the accessories I need? E.g. tripod? lighting? Appreciate if you can share some keywords for me to Google further.

What's the most user friendly software to edit, add texts, subtitles, music, voice overs to the videos I made? I have both AI & PS, totally fail to use it since it's too complex for me. But I've managed to use combination of PPTX, Paint & PDF to edit or design stuffs all this while.

Thank in advance.

to tell you the truth, even an iphone can get something (or even better) than the video u posted. you need a tripod to hold it and a good lighting. if you're using action camera, change the POV setting to the narrowest rather than wide.

the easiest movie maker must be windows movie maker but it has been discontinued by microsoft. u can check this link below for a few alternative.

the text u can use paint or photoshop and add it in your movie timeline.

iPhone is good news indeed! biggrin.gif

So all I need is a tripod & lighting if I can't get sufficient sunlight?

The movie maker software don't have features for me to insert text? Kindly like PPTX when I can insert text & add animation to the text.

I'll look through the list, thanks for the tips!

u can also use this method without a tripod. but if u already have a tripod find a ballhead so that u can tilt your camera or iphone to shoot below.

there's a lot of tutorial u can find in youtube. just search for it. that goes for the recording setup as well as how to add text to your video.

Selfie stick lol.....Ok I might be able to save on the tripod then laugh.gif

Nice tips, I wanted to search further in YouTube or Google. But I'm not familiar with some terms, keywords or jargon cause I'm totally new in this area. So quite inefficient at researching the moment.

1) Camera - a modern smartphone that can shoot 1080p is enough. Just make sure you have enough memory.

2) Tripod - cheap option you can go with a mini tripod (e.g. http://www.lazada.com.my/yunteng-228-mini-...0.0.fcptHR&ff=1 ) and set it on a table or something.

3) Software - Have a look at DaVinci Resolve free version. If you have a Mac, iMovie is a pretty good option.

4) Graphic & Text - You definitely dont need AI & PS for something this simple. Gimp.org is a good free choice. I think you dont have to worry too much on this. Just use good fonts (might want to read up on typography and basic font pairings). Look at fonts.google.com or dafonts.com.

5) Lighting - 2 or 3 table lamps with daylight bulbs is fine (all bulbs must be the same colour). Figure out a way to shine the light through something white & translucent (e.g. thin white paper) to soften the light (makes shadows look softer). If there are some dark areas, use a DIY reflector (tape some aluminium foil onto cardboard boxes) to direct the light.

6) Sound - if you are going to talk... a good cheap way is to use another phone as a sound recorder, with the earphone (with mic) attached. put the mic close to your mouth for best quality. Then you need to sync the audio in software.
