Hi All,

Anyone here changed their alternator yet. I had to change mine recently and it cost quite a bit - RM 2500. Done it at one authorized naza kia outlet. My mileage above 130K. Car is Forte 2.0SX.

Is it that expensive?

Me too. Am planning to change my rim from stock 17" to either 16" or 15". Any advise which one is better choice. Looking at comfy rather than performance. But must look good too.

5 holes 114.3 16" aftermarket ones are kinda rare. Can check fb grp some members manage to find it. Unless stock 16" from Forte EX. 16" is a little more comfortable, improve acceleration but sacrificed on looks bit.

The other option is to retain 17" but go for lightweight forged/flow formed rims. Example like Advanti Storm S1 17" only weight 6.8KG compared to stock 17" around 10KG. Lower unsprung weight improves acceleration and lower yr fuel consumption. 17x8jj looks good on Forte. Stock 17" I think is 7jj. Garage sales section got members who sell ori rims.

Tyre can go for 50 profile if felt 45 is too bumpy but gotta ask mech to check the clearance if your new rim's spec is different from stock. Get quality tyre from reputable brands, don't cheap out on tyre. Often I saw ppl buys expensive rims but use linglong/unknown brands tyre doh.gif Get something like Michelin PS4/Primacy 4, Conti MC6/SC5, Hankook V12E2/S1E2, Bridgestone RE003/T005A, Falken FK510. Each have pros and cons, can check reviews on which best suit yr driving style.

Thanks a lot for the advice.

Hi Fellow Forte owner,

I'm thinking of changing my 17" stock rim to 16" rim cause the stock rim was dented and repaired few times. Also with stock rim and high profile tyres, car bumpy and not that comfortable. Want to ask if any of you have downgrade your rims to 16" and whether any major issues after doing that. whats the pro and cons?

Thank you

Hi All,

Just want to check if you all have encounter a problem with the airbags? Recently my 9 year old Forte 2.0 the airbag light on the meter stays on. Normally it will go off after a few seconds. Is this a major problem? What could be the issue?

Thank you.

Hi Kia Forte 2.0 owners,

I would like to ask some questions regarding the radiator system in our Kia Forte 2.0 SX. Recently I had problems with the radiator and has to change the radiator panel. Didn't do it at a Kia service center. After change seems like working ok for a while. But when I check the water level in the coolant reservoir it seems to drop below full every couple or weeks. Brought back to workshop they cannot find what's wrong. Lately I also check the radiator itself. I would pop the radiator cap in the morning before starting the car. I cannot see water inside, so I pour water inside and the water will slowly go down. I can pour up to half a bottle of a 1.5 L mineral water bottle. But all along the level on the coolant reservoir still remain at Full. My question is should we be concern that the radiator need to top up water even if the coolant reservoir is indicated as full. From what i read in youtube we only supposed to top coolant in the coolant reservoir. Hope to hear some of your experiences with the Kia Forte radiator system. Thank you.
