Based on the manga with the same name, this anime is directed by Kishi Seiji-sensei, the same man that directed the hillarious Magikano

Michishio Nagasumi was holidaying at his grandmother's town of Setouchi, when he nearly drowned. He was saved by a mermaid. The next day, a girl named Seto San came to his house and asked Nagasumi to marry her as he has to take responsibility on what happened.
While he was reluctant at first, he was more reluctant when he met with San's father, Seto Gouzaburou, who is a yakuza. Gouzaburou wants to kill him to keep the secret of the mermaids safe. But his wife interverne, saying that by marrying San, his life will be spared as he will be relatives. Thus start the funny adverture of nagasumi as he copes with a mermaid bride, and a jealous father.
IMO, this was quite good. I can't wait for them to get back to their own hometown, as that is where the funniest part of the story start

this anime show lots of dissapointment to me. Well the manga is really nice, but in the anime, they did San uglier than in the manga. i watched for 5 minutes, n i already quit watching it.

I feel that San's voice is very unique compared to the current comedy type of anime which i am following at the moment like Konata from Lucky Star, Suzu from Nagasete and Nagi from Hayate.

Not quite the level of moe-ness, but it is good.

Momoi Haruko who is San's seiyuu is also the singer for Under 17. But she also has a good solo career.

lol, i love the shoujou-ai style of drawing when Nagasumi and Masa are together. Heck. I reate this higher than Hayate no gotoku in term of Manga --> anime adaptation. This is one of the best adaptation eva!

I thought this anime was LAME at first.. very very childish..
but then, it turned to be quite a good medicine for great LAUGHS. especially when it comes to their act *San's father, and also Kai and Saru*
Oooo... and I think that the new ending is SUPERB~

depends. The manga is still ongoing (for a long time I must say, I was reading it 3 years ago). thus if they want to make a second season they should have enough materials.

Anyway, just finished episode 16 & 17. I found Akeno's hotness so irresistible even the cats couldn't stop licking her. brows.gif but the highlight of the episodes has to be full-sized Akeno bolster. Now where can I find it? hmm.gif

Wow, I surely watch this anime in fast pace, aren't I?

Some comments after I've finished till episode 24:
* the excursion day is the best I've watched so far. Come on, where else can I find Mawari doing THIS and THAT to Iinchou and hot mermaid-on-mermaid action? brows.gif
* You should never let your Terminator father cross-dress as schoolgirl. shakehead.gif
* Neko-Mer-Maid San wub.gif wub.gif
* the girls' imagination of Nagasumi after he took the potion is pure gold (Akeno's reaction is the winner drool.gif ). Although why Mawari likes him as a shota is beyond me. doh.gif
* San should have never gone badass. It's so wrong,. shocking.gif
* Akeno losing her memories is pure cuteness. blush.gif
* Epic misunderstanding is EPIC. And Nagasumi's becoming more inhuman than ever. blink.gif

Well, two more episodes to conclude this. Hopefully I can find its DVDs after this.

Just watched the two last episodes of this series, and I have one word to describe my feeling:

EPIC.

Everything. Including NaGARzilla.

fujishiro's phone wallpaper so funny, terminaor in sailor uniformom eyes so classic and the super saiyan reflecting bullets so imba...
and the way they make the final episode jz felt so special...
its like an action movie like that with all the movie...

really hope got season 2...
my weeks wouldnt be the smae without alughing to this anime T.T

I can't stop laughing at the sudden transformation of NaGarSumi at the end of the episode. I mean, huh? How come he become Kenshiro in one night? sweat.gif

But the ending leaves a lot to be desired (what happened between Nagasumi & San? brows.gif ). Now, if Gonzo continues the legendary epicness and continue with season 2, I'll definitely sign to watch it. thumbup.gif

Im rewatching this show as we speak, and I never fail to laugh at the epic comedy (especially the feet drying scene in episode 2 brows.gif ) Good thing I was introduced to this anime by my friend. flex.gif rclxms.gif

this anime jz got so many awesome moment...

the appealing point to me is the animation of the expressions...
nagasumi and san jz got so many expression...

Although abit late but just finished this last few days, all I can say is AWESOME

I notice that alot of character in SnH have two side characteristic , take Runa for example, her WTF mode really made me lol hard and her dere dere moment is not bad either.

San though have more than 2. The normal moment, the []_[] moment when she talked liek a robot and when she is serious (not to forget Sanpachi LoL)

Ahah, I finish all 26 episodes of Seto no Hayanome in one shot. What can I say is the anime sometimes get too 'over'. But it still outrageously funny in almost every episodes.

i remembered in the anime it was mentioned that nagasumi is 16, while afaik san's age wasnt mentioned. i could be wrong though, or possibily they aged nagasumi a lil to make it "less wrong" <-- LOL! (its still pretty damn wrong eitherway but since naGARsumi havent made "contact" maybe not, i guess. still very lol XD)
