I just want to know the differences of lens mount between brands. For examples like Canon with Nikon. Can Canon lens fit with Nikon's DSLR? Is there any differences between them?

And i would like to know the meaning of words on the lens. For example, AF-S DX 55-200 mm . What is the meaning of AF-S and DX? Besides that , for example, EF 70-200mm F4 L IS USM. What is the meaning of those words?

THX.

AF-S DX 55-200mm

AF > Auto Focus
DX > Design use for Nikon Digital Camera only

EF 70-200mm F4 L IS USM

EF > EF lens mount is the heart of the Canon EOS line of cameras made by Canon Inc

L > Luxury (High end)

IS > Image stabaliser (Expensive)

So it means that different brand camera got unique mount design ? It means that for example Canon lens cannot put in Nikon DSLR lah~?

If the DSLR got the shake reduction system, i means that it doesn't need a IS lens also can take non-blurly picture?

Pentax and Sony has SR feature on the body itself.

this means they don't need to use IS lens to have IS. however having IS doesn't mean you totally eliminate blurry pictures. smile.gif

the degree of your zoom and varying shutter speed could still make IS cameras capture blurry pic. smile.gif
