 Drinking age in Malaysia, Consumption vs purchase

Currently:
1. What is the legal age of consuming alcohol in Malaysia?

2. What is the legal age of purchasing alcohol in Malaysia?

Some say consume=noLaws and purchase=18 but many say both 18. Kindly include source as I can't find any specific laws regarding either.

Edit. Now that I researched further seems that there is no law in malaysia against underage drinkers. Only those who sell will be held liable.

That's true but not what I'm looking for.

Any idea of the actual laws? Putrajaya can't have increased the age from 18 to 21 if such a law doesn't even exist. However, even for the age increase, some reports say consumption age and others say purchasing age so it's still vague as to which is which.

Relax man, guns and alcohol got a lot of legal difference; not a fair comparison.

Fyi, many countries (about half in the world) have different age of consumption vs age of purchase. Eg. France, Germany, Indonesia, Singapore and many others.


If you're implying the drinking age and purchase is 18 here, can I have the source pls

Thanks for the source, confirms that alcohol cannot be sold to below 21's starting 1st Dec 2017.

"mempamerkan suatu tanda secara mudah dilihat tentang larangan jualan minuman beralkohol kepada mana-mana orang di bawah umur dua puluh satu tahun sebagaimana yang dinyatakan dalam Jadual Kedua Puluh C di kaunter miniman beralkohol yang ditawarkan untuk jualan."

Doesn't say anything about the consumption age though. It should be explicitly mentioned somewhere if there's an actual law on it.
