for my setup, i'm just using an LG home theatre system, cost me 900 bucks...good enuff for me already, as my ears not sensitive enuff to differentiate between a 900 bucks system and a 5K system...

PS3 --> DVD player using optical cables for sound output thru the 5.1 speakers

PS3 --> LCD using HDMI cables for video

the surround effect is good enuff for me already...damn explosive with the bullets sound coming right left and centre while playing MGS...haha...

lesson learned. i juz use the speaker that already "built in" in my tv.....

Dont bother about those rich uncles in lowyat, they have tonnes of money to recommend >10K system for you which is ridiculous. Even for more than RM3K already over the top. They always thought that HTib is those DVD HT set sold in tesco or giant that dont even have HDMI input for your PS3, thats why they said sux.

But if you read international AVforums or forum of some sort it is not the same thing. Component AVR with speakers packed together are also HTiBs, and these HTIBs carry  more than 1000w and huge active subwoofer. which is as powerful as their expensive setup.
Anyway those uncles have made all home theater shops selling decent and affordable HT to be unafordable in Malaysia. Please do check prices on oversea market first and compare. You will get shock!

If possible buy straight from oversea, you could save few thousands RM even with the shipping, handling and tax.

It's just an anomaly, if u spent 10k and you cant full blast at top of the volume like in concert stadium becoz u r human and your eardrum cant take more than 115db at anytime so why buy those system? Capice?

And btw you will be surprise to know most of those system cary less than 1500w

So tell me you want to spend 10k or 3k for the exact power output?
