guys... is it safe to say any receiver of familliarly known brand(sony,philips,onkyo) with hdmi + 7.1 is good for having decent sound system?

i'm kind of an audiophile...audio quality mind more than video.. but i dont really expect loud system.. just wanted decent, clear n crisp quality sound..
