So far this 7.1 channel thing is really hard to fulfill if we dun have enough "bullets" ($money$)!!!
The cheapers home theather that have HDMI are mostly pass through so no 7 channel support, i think u still get 5.1.

Marantz have a AV receiver that has HDMI v1.1, 1 input 2 output! but that will cost almost 1500++ onwards and without any speaker!!! So if u get the speaker together it will cost up to 2000++!!!

2pac, i dun think 2k can get lar, if ur getting it with a ps3, as the receiver will aredi cost u more than tat

how about china brand receivers? any of them support HDMI and uncompressed PCM? i think those china brand 5.1 [receiver + speakers] is quite affordable, eh? especially for ppl not so fussy about sound quality and on a budget.

if not fussy then go for lower end japanese brands lor

haha, i don't want to spend too much for the audio system, since my interest in movies or music is close to nil. and the wiring for back speakers is kind of a pain (in own room only). so maybe will try those cheap china brand system and connect 3.1. u think sub RM500, can get?

I think the most u can get is a Creative 750! But u wont get 7.1 effect with the speaker itself! U need other things to get that result! Like receiver and bla bla bla.....
If u go for Logitech Z5500 u can get 5.1 effect and u wont need anything else but just an optical cable to connect ur PS3 and the Speaker! That will cost around RM1500+-

of course u can! But for 5.1 surround u need to use Optical! Normal AV cable cant do so..... and for 7.1 surround u need HDMI input available HT

trouble is rx330...some salesperson dont even know what is optical input....

also, mati2 wanna sale those "HTIB ini ada HDMI mah bang" tapi not realising its HDMI in i want, HDMI out... (it's either/or optical input or HDMI in I want)

seeing all these, my best bets are still the Pioneer 2700 or the Z5500 from logitech....PC Fair sure got deals one kan? Tapi experienced the crowd last time ..... shudder at the thought of doing it again...kekeke
