well, it all comes to the final marketing packaging...
like the Yaris offered in Thailand/Taiwan/Singapore, they include stock HID and also electronic retractable side mirrors... these are missing from the package offer in M'sia...
if i'm not mistaken, this new VIOS 2007 in Thailand does include optiron meter...
*
taiwan yaris summore got keyless entry.. poor malaysia.. price almost double but all basic package..

The vios for 70k will basic spec with likelihood one airbag (if they are generous), no ABS, rear drum brakes and perhaps using cover rather than alloy rims. A manual for less than 70k is a likely possibility as well.

basic model....
wheel, 13" steel rim black with no cover,
brake, front disc back drum with no abs or any gadget
window, manual roll up
interior, no radio, fabric seat, no aircond, normal wira styled meters...
exterior, bumper not body color
engine, basic engine with no vvti, 1.3

is this how a baseline basic model would be?

Singapore Toyota website show the Spec of new VIOS'07, the dimensions is bigger a lot than the old Vios, it's should be more comfortable.

The Vios'07 already launch at Thailand and Singapre, why Malaysia have to wait until end of the year?

maybe that's their marketing strategy... & the balance older VIOS model from S'pore/Thailand can be finished off here in M'sia 1st...
how to say?
they launch new model in Thailand & S'pore, the remaining older version of VIOS will be fully sold in M'sia... with "many attractive price slash" where we will be very tempted due to our tax structure while the seller still have a favourable profit margin...

So, from the day onward until the new Vios release, the sales of old Vios will significant dropped. Whom want to buy old Vios?

This will impacted the sales of UMW, right! Thanks.
