a bit of correction. RM5 is charged to rider for cancellation.
driver gets RM3.75 (75%)
cancellation by rider is allowed up to 5mins from booking time.
even if you're 10 sec away from pick up point, as long as rider cancelled within 5 mins then no charges.
unless u have arrived at pickup point in <5mins, even if rider cancelled, they'll still be charged.
many riders don't realize the downside for driver when they choose to cancel the rides. Once, i was taken into Sg Long at 630am. I was probably 5mins away from pickup point when rider cancelled. Yes, i get RM3.75 for my effort, but it was hell trying to get out of Sg Long in the morning rush hour. Tho i was lucky to get another call (after 15mins waiting) to help me get get out of Sg Long.
Many times i have to slam the brake, or make illegal u-turn just to get to a rider only to be cancelled. Worse still if you're nicely cruising, then because of a call u had to turn into a super jam road and got cancelled once you're already stuck in traffic.
this is why i feel uber shouldn't take their share of 25% comms for cancellation. they did nothing and lose nothing while driver wasted time, petrol, even toll and other opportunities. just give the whole RM5 to driver.
