Hi Everyone!

Open waters newbie here! Actually I got my PADI license in April this year and after that I didn't had time to go for another diving trip...not only until last weekend, I went to Pulau Tenggol again....and the instructor was so good to quide me during the daytrips and after doing 6 dives....my bouyancy is perfect now. And I'm so into diving already! So, to continue diving, I really need to buy a mask, fins and a wet suit. Any recommendations?

Ahhh..u wait for reply..all unker here very helpful.
My advise is first choose which colour u want to be seen underwater. After that, go thru items which has those colours. Go from bottom to top.
Fins, wetsuit, bcd, reg, mask....or you go by the brand.. just choose a brand...and buy all the stuff from that. Life is easier like dat. biggrin.gif

Hi guys... just to share with you guys.

I got the Princetec LED torchlight which came as a free gift from buying the Suunto. Took the torch for a dive, afterwards notice there a leak from the on/off switch area.

Emel princetec for warranty and was fowarded to local distributor (A&L). Went to A&L..got a new torch on the spot with no question asked.

Good to know. Hows the performance? I wanna sell mine. Haha

I've used it on a night dive and the brightness is just enough for me..not too bright until that you could blind the fish but you kill a shark with it..It's too bulky.

is it a must to go to the open sea to get the padi cert? can it be done without going out of town?
*
I'm quite curious on what exactly do you mean by asking about going to the open sea? Are you under the impression that going to the open seas means going out in the middle of the ocean?

East Coast: Perhentian, Tioman, Kuantan, Bidong is in my list this year. Not really have plan yet... But definitely will go!
On-hold first due to possible election day. I will not joining if election crash on my date.
But I do bring 3 China Students for OW Certification. If election fall during tat period, OWC will still go on but with local instructor.

Date: 26 Apr - 1 May 2018
Requirement: Advanced at least coz few dive sites quite deep, wreck dives as well.
One day about 2 - 3 islands...

Pulau Mejar, suppose cannot go, but we got apply with Malaysian enforcement, so can go, they will be diving with us.
Pulau Bohey Dulang, 1 dive in Twin Rocks dive site to spot Pgymy seahorse at 22m. 1 climb up to the peak of Bohey Dulang of course.
Pulau Pom Pom: Muck Dive x2, hopefully can catch a glimpse of bull sharks and blue ringed octopus
Pulau Pandanan: Sting Ray Site...
Pulau Timba - Timba, Pulau Mantabuan:  couldn't recall what I see last time... have to check back my log
Pulau Mataking: Post Office/Wreck on 19m
Pulau Sibuan: Mandarin Bay (many goby, dont recall seeing any mandarin fish)
few more to explore... exploring some new sites as well...

Pulau Sipadan, Mabul, Kapalai will be skipped this round.
*
Hmm... heard election is very likely the end of April.. however, do keep me in the loop on your plans.

I got the mares rover, dive center basic set. with this information, i'm sure many of the instructors like you have came across these equipment lots of times.
Regarding the TT, im sorry to say I stay in Brunei now, so it's not easy for me to come for a TT in KL, the thought was good though, thanks.

You could also refer to Youtube for instructional guide. For lube, please don't use KY Jelly..only WKkaY uses it. tongue.gif
