QUOTE(scchan107 @ Jul 4 2018, 01:33 PM) How about I offer you free training until DM, but the catch is you live in a damp hole in total darkness eating nothing but slush in a place where the water level can raise within a few mins and drown you if you not paying enough attention? We will leave the bugs/snakes and whatever that is crawling inside. No need 4 months. 1 month enough. |

QUOTE(ExCrIpT @ Sep 20 2018, 02:02 PM) Just wondering, are dive guides suppose to discourage divers from dangerous behaviours underwater? Its a fine balance. Usually its up the the better judgement of the guides. If it was me, I would have told them to split. If I'm grouped with that kind of diver (assuming i'm diving incognito as a fun diver) I would still tell them. If you think its dangerous for you and for them underwater, you have all the rights to discourage it and voicing your opinion about it. Unfortunately a lot of us asians seems to have problem with confrontation. He/she might not like it but fact is he's a lousy diver. If you would like to avoid that kinda confrontation i suggest you speak to the person in charge at the dive site/dive centre.I went diving and there were another couple who kept holding hands while diving, just can't seem to let go of each other even for a minute. the guy does not have any buoyancy at all and his partner is the one keeping him afloat because it is rather obvious his bcd is not inflated as he sinks rather quickly when he stops. because they were so busy holding hands, they couldnt control their point of direction while swimming, and there were 3 times they bumped into my partner and all 3 of them got entangled and couldnt break off for a good 10 secs or so. I find that rather dangerous because one of them might swing their arm and remove the respirator of another if it happens to hook on to the tube of the respirator. Im pretty sure the 2 dive guides saw but they didnt even warn them or do anything and it happened again the next dive. Also remember that not all dive guides are trained as Divemasters. There's no law/standards in the world that prohibits an Open Water Diver from guiding someone. Dive Guide does not equal Divemaster. So they might not have the proper training to react to situations like these. |
