Diver MicBergsma tried Gopro 7 with and without red filter. The result with red filter was better.LYN Scuba Divers Club v8.0, Feed the addiction

I had the experience of getting separated too when I did my AOWD course. That was a drift dive lesson and we have to empty the BCD bladder to go straight to the bottom. My instructor and buddy went down without problems, while I was a bit late and I lost them. I tend to follow any bubbles that I see but still I end up in a sandy bottom. I knew then I had to do the buddy lost protocol and get to the surface on my own because I couldn't see anyone around.
I waited a minute or so, because that time I didn't have a dive computer, no SMB, no tank banger stick. Tried to knock the tank with my fist but as you know it, it doesn't make any sound. I can't rely on anyone to save me, so with a full tank, I ascend. I watched my bubbles when I ascend, not to be faster than the bubble, I looked at my pressure gauge to make sure I stayed in the 3-5m mark, I count 1-60, 3 times to signify 3 minutes. Because it was in KK, the boat traffic was haunting, any boat motor sound could means harm coming your way. But I still managed to come up and met my instructor and buddy who came back up earlier. So, with that experience I've put myself in an infavourable situation and I know I had to learn to save myself without banging and waiting for people to save me, who's to say I can't go up on my own? I mean, keep that option open. Since then, I bought dive com, SMB, tank banger in case any situation happens and I think I can manage to be calm when separated and save myself. |

The chances of being alive is pretty slim now, since she was missing since Saturday evening.https://www.theborneopost.com/2021/04/19/fa...out-her-safety/ 2 separate dive incidents over one weekend in Sarawak, one dead and one still MIA, SARS operation are still on going as of now... 2nd incident is in Kuching, she broke the cardinal rules of diving by going down alone... |

For those that didn't follow the news, Karen Chong's body was found 52km from the dive site. May her soul rest in peace. Dive safely everyone.
