Mine for sale. I will fall back on my trusty iphone 5 16gb.  sweat.gif

But then again, not sure if I would be able to get an 8 during launch in September at Singapore. If cannot get or no stocks then Im stuck with the 5.

QUOTE(TOMEI-R @ Aug 15 2017, 01:30 PM)
Definately. But my main concern would be the inadequate storage. My photos alone about 20GB.  sweat.gif  But like mentioned, its only temporary. But Im afraid I wont be able to get my hands on the 8 on launch day.
*
20GB of photos! How to search a photo in the album?
I have 300 photos also difficult to search for 1 that I wanted to use.

Which iphone model you want to sell?

My Iphone 7 plus is 128GB, if I were to buy Ip8, seems like a downgrade to 64gb. hahaha.

Press power and vol down simultaneously

This reboot is the same as power it OFF and power it ON again, right?

Yes, but it is actually clearing cache if not mistaken which reset your phone.
*
Reboot sounds so technical. Just say OFF and ON the phone. tongue.gif

anyone experience phone auto wiped after several wrong passcode tries (about 5 times). pretty sure the 10 attempt auto wipe was disabled.

last seen - screen was disabled for 1 hour. after that wipes out the phone and start like a new phone now...no backup done sigh.

any ideas if I can send it for data recovery? where/and how much would it cost?

thanks!
*
Are you sure the iPhone is not permanent locked?

If a thief stole an iphone, does what you did, he will turn that iPhone into a 'new' phone.

No, the phone is not even locked at all, it is now working exactly like a new phone, it showed the ‘Hello’ screen and select language etc. like a fresh restore...and I lost all my files...

Enter the wrong passcodes multiple times can factory reset the iPhone is very strange.

Yes, will be a fresh new phone
https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2535495

Unless u report stolen from ur Apple ID , then it will be bricked

Coz from the cloud u are still the owner and if u see the explanation the system actually encrypt the data , not an actual “delete”

I personally turn this off after reading all the stories about people accidentally cleaned off the phone biggrin.gif
*
Thank you very much. This is good info.

When we buy a used iphone, the seller shows a factory default iphone, is it safe to purchase it?
How do we know this iphone is not a stolen phone, did the steps to factory reset it?

I think checking the serial on website will be the safest during cod

Check first then only buy

If it’s stolen there will be an activation lock

https://support.apple.com/en-us/ht201472

Unless the original owner removed it from the Apple ID already

If u follow Facebook groups, now thieves have a new cheating method

After ur phone is stolen they will go and find out ur other Apple ID linked devices and will send u an email / sms as if apple found ur phone and need u to key in ur Apple ID and password to retrieve it

Once u key in, it is keyed in for them and then they will change password from their side to release the stolen phone biggrin.gif
https://thecoverage.my/news/scam-alert-ipho...-id-login-page/
To beat that, u enable two step verification, Apple will send a code to ur other Apple ID devices when this is enabled when there’s a new sign in. Then thieves won’t get access even with ur password smile.gif

Thanks for your advice.

If I am the buyer and the phone is already in factory reset mode.
Can I do another time reset on the phone? This is to make sure that the phone does not ask me for the password to confirm the reset again.

QUOTE(jumpstat @ Jun 13 2018, 11:42 AM)
Also need to check whether the phone is telco lock or unlock version. There are cases where phones which are telco locked (phones from telco with contract), then seller default on the payments on the phones, and in the end telco bricked the phone. Pity the buyer.

For me the best is these phones must come with paperwork, ie receipts etc. Then only can acertain whether it is telco phone or unlock etc etc. Too many conmen around.

Thanks for the advice.

if u start the phone and its fresh then it should be okay but iOS will require SIM card to go in then later only u can reset again .

the best is not to buy a used iPhone lah biggrin.gif

just my friendly advice, coz I know a few people who repair iPhones. Many "used" units are refurb units, inside got oem parts and etc. we won't know.

Thanks again for your valuable advice.

hi guys, recently I just recorded a video about 30min(3.5GB), when I try to import to my pc, it show "this device is unreachable"? any idea?
*
When connected to the PC, I always use file explorer to copy and paste the photos and videos from iphone to PC.
Did you try this way of transferring the photos and videos?

You can purchase directly from the owner of the phone itself its much safer haha.
Try not to deal with stores actually as the devices have been tampered and original
parts being replaced as how MooTik mentioned
*
The seller can claim he is the owner. If he can reset the phone with the password, then I trust him.
I never buy used phones from shops.

then maybe because you charge overnight for 365 days  laugh.gif

I am now not longer using third party cable or adapter and no longer charge overnight, battery seems works well up to date
*
It is ok to charge your iphone overnight. The charger will stop charging when the battery is fully charged.

Charging starts around 11pm.

Check status at 8am. It took 2hrs 8mins to fully charge my iphone 6S.

QUOTE(rageLE @ Sep 8 2018, 12:02 AM)
Greetings , does anyone have network issues with their iPhone 7 ? This is because my network was going on fine until the few recent weeks and I am not sure whether it is the telco problem or the phone , tried googling but I found none of those that have the exact same issues as mine. The issues includes:-
1) my phone always no service/searching (no reception at all) , this is fine at home as I have wifi but it it very troublesome when I need to use my internet outside where no wifi is accessible and also hard for internet banking for tac purposes , hence it’s been really stressing me out
2) it will randomly go from 4g full bar to no service in an area where reception is typically great
3) the line may stay at E after a phone call

In light of my issues , I would love some insights or advices to my issues if the problem is known , whether it is telco ( I’m using celcom , they said it was ok but I’m not too sure ) or the phone is the cause (mechanical/software).

I appreciate any information given , thanks .
