Usually cheap lightning cables are very thin and have tendency not being detected at all by the iPhone. I've been using Benks and Rock cables.. they are still functioning after close to 1 year.

People are perpetually selling their devices. Yes, some are selling their iPhones in anticipation of the new iteration but I don't think the number is large at all. But your subsequent observation is not correct as there are as many iOS devices vis-a-vis iPhones as there are Android's in consumers' hands.

And Apple's authorised retail outlets are dropping the prices of older versions of the iPhones only.

A 300 or 500 discount for a mobile phone that is almost a year old is hardly "throwing prices" in my opinion. I bought and sold a Galaxy S8 in 3 weeks. I bought and sold a HTC U11 in 2 weeks. But am still keeping my close to one year old iPhone 7 Plus. People buy and sell phones all the time, bro.

Yup, just checked mine just now, it vibrates when its switch on to silent/vibrate mode.

Probably your settings on your phone needs tweaking.

Hi guys, I'm currently planning to buy an IP7. After reading a lot of reviews (TechRadar, CNET, etc.), it seems battery is the main concern. So, here hoping that you can provide me with insights on the battery.

I know it varies, but on average, how long does a full charge last? Can it last for one whole day?

I'm a mediocre user - texting, calls, browsing news, emails, Waze, 9gag, casual games and few others.

Any input would be great!

Battery life is very much dependent on the usage. And usage is solely on the owner. And the owner uses the phone differently daily. So, the answers to this question, though many of you still insist on asking, are superfluous.

An example is what you stated above. Those reviewers say it's a concern but for many including yours truly, it is phenomenal. And others here may scoff at my opinion. So, let me then ask you...are you any wiser after reading whatever in reply? I don't think so.

You either, since apparently you do read up on articles, form your own conclusion or just take the plunge after making an informed decision.

If that is the case, then perhaps if you don't mind, may I know your usage pattern? And how do you define phenomenal? A whole day without charging?

Waze sucks battery, just like most other navigation or GPS-intensive app. If you take away that from your usage, I think it should be OK, but to be safe maybe go for a 7 Plus.

On my 7 plus still vibrate when switching from ringing to silent mode. Check your vibrate setting. Make sure it is enable.

If battery life is your concern, go for 7 Plus. Im using 7 plus as my daily driver due to its excellent battery life. Full charge 100% at 11pm then wake up at 6am still 100% with wifi & 4G on.
