I have a serious question here, will my sound improve if I were to just add an amplifier to my ICE? I drive a Proton Iriz 1.6 Premium and all the HU and speakers (4 of it, all factory setting and at the door)?

I need advice cause I'm very new in this. I just want a better sound from my car while playing music, not the competition level ones.

The stock speakers are actually not that bad, and still functions perfectly. Just wanted to amp up the quality.

i just did that to my car. retain my stock HU, add amp and change 2 front speaker
if you know how to DIY, open up ur door panel, and look at your stock speaker.
the magnet normally is very tiny, if you got budget for an amp and speaker, i would suggest to go for both

it definitely will improve your ICE experience. and your experience will depend on your budget.

Try looking for an active subwoofer instead. It connects to your HU and all your speakers and sits under your seat. I have this setup on my preve. Really happy with it.

Then what would you say about adding just amplifier without changing any speakers at all? I was being told by several guys that the stock speakers in Iriz is Blaupunkt, so I'd feel it'll be a bit wasted to just throw it all out. Though I can't confirm whether or not this is still true.

How about the surround sound? Will the subwoofer interfere with it? And what type of subwoofer are you using?

It will amplify the sound hence you will have deeper mid bass and clear highs compared to current setup..

But it also depends on the amp itself.. btw whats your budget bro?

My budget would be around rm600 for now just for the amplifier. Don't know whether or not its enough.

if for me, i would change speaker rather than add Amp
from personal experience,
before adding amp, i change my front speaker to Focal component set and the sound totally improve ALOT smile.gif

and last week i added amp and it just goes to different level

i am not sure about Iriz speaker,
maybe you can open up door panel and look for the models or series of the speaker. and do some research before spend your hard earn money

Hi TS, you also can consider what ahchun bro said..

Adding amp will need fuse, wiring and additional cost for you.. perhaps can try change speakers bro.. just my 2 cents bro..

I'm using a Blaupunkt XLf 200A Active Subwoofer. it actually improved the surround sound, just that the bass load on the rest of the speakers is reduced. Much better sound quality.

Yeah, I think it would be better to personally check the speakers first. I also thought about just changing the front door speakers to bass speaker first if I were to not add an amplifier. What do you say about that?

Ohhhh ok. Yeah if it requires lot more wiring, then it would be more cost efficient to actually just change the speakers first right?

Nice. How much would the subwoofer costs you? And did you add any amplifier to the set?

Yes, it is the one loaded with the android player. I believe the HU was from Lookatoo, cause the map is theirs. Not too sure though about this, have to ask someone more experienced in this.

Ohhh ok. How can I get these infos? Does it embedded in the unit itself? I never open it before, so I have zero knowledge regarding this.

Front speakers you may change to component set bro.. consist of 6.5 inch midbass and separate tweeter..

yes bro, cus usually some shop dont charge for speaker installation when you buy from them. If they charge also will be around rm50 more or less..

Nice. How much would the subwoofer costs you? And did you add any amplifier to the set?

Underseat sub doesn't need amp bro.. its comes with built-in amp..

You can see behind the speakers bro..

Thanks! I just got the info that the stock unit currently in my Iriz is a Blaupunkt 20watt8ohms speakers (all 4 of them) and its a paper type. Do you reckon me to just add an underseat subwoofer first or might as well just change the speakers?

component set comes with tweeter bro.. 2 piece midbass speakers and 2 piece tweeter..

Morel maximo is the best value for $$$ speakers imho cuz im using it..

Adding sub will give you low notes but sometimes it might overkill your speaker's sound.. and you will hear the bass only not the music..

It all comes down to personal preferance tho.. sometimes you may like.. sometimes you dont...personally if you're on tight budget.. Just change ur player first.. Then add in a sub.. you will be amazed with sometimes what stock speakers can give you
