Search and read posts about GOUT. If doctor says uric acid is causing this in you, then try to control it. If you do not have serious gout, then think and balance all the rumours and advice carefully.

Yup, my latest gout flare confirms this ... my uric acid level went up and my big toe got swollen. After I took colchicine prescribed by my doctor, the next day the pain was gone.
