Is good to see UMW start to up their level on safety feature across all spec.
7 Airbag , VSC, TRC, HAC

It's precisely the lack of safety features that made it easier for me to choose City V spec, which happens to be my first Honda.

I have owned a few Toyota car/Mpv before, and have good experience so far, except the lack of advanced safety features. I always think a Toyota is more hardy and cheaper to maintain.

Looking into the above comments, if 350km = half tank is not a good FC, then frick! My car is much worse. Mine full tank can only go far max 500km, sometimes 450km.

That means 500km/32L = 15.6 km. Yours is like 350km/16L = 21.9km/L!
How do you do that?

Just did my first car battery replacement exactly 2 years. The battery did not 'kong', just that my Start/Stop is sluggish AF.

To Sifu, how do you know when to change tyres?
Is it good to change whole at once or 2 by 2?
*
Most fuel gauges are not linear. From max to 1/2 tank is usually not half of max to low-fuel warning. It drops much faster from 1/2 to liw fuel warning compared to from max to 1/2.

No love for New 2019 Vios? Seems like nobody is talking about it here smile.gif
From the review, seems like UMW has learned its lesson and starts throwing in all the bells and whistles to compete against City, and the reviews have been positive as well (aside from the opinion dividing front design). What are your thoughts?
*
Too late for me. I bought my first ever Honda (city) because the safety features and equipment for ncp93 are so pathetic. I was pretty happy with my ncp42 (vios first gen).

Hi, I drove my family member's vios (2018,1 year old car) recently and It seems like it is struggling to move/ accelerate especially when it is fully stopped(e.g traffic light) .Compared to my old dugong, it seems to be lagging by a lot especially when i want to accelerate from stop. I wanna ask whether can SC help to tune it to be better or anyway to improve it? I am a newbie, please don't flame me...thanks in advance....smile.gif
*
My guess is you are not used to CVT.

Guys, can someone help with an issue?
NCP150 E spec 2013 model - doesn't have beeping sound when lock/unlocking with remote. Can the beeping be toggled on or off, and how to do it?
The owner doesn't have user's manual.
Thank you in advance. Much appreciated.

We went to Toyota SC the other day for Vios service and repair. Missus was eying on the new Camry to replace my old Sonata YF. New Camry fully imported from Thailand.

No more Vios for me. Brokenhearted. Value dropped from Rm87k to Rm63k in one year. sad.gif

My personal interest is on the new Peugeot 508. Not yet in Malaysia. More sporty that it's predecessor. biggrin.gif

I feel you bro. Mine also the same, from 84k to 66k in one year, depreciation rate is faster than the installment paid per year. Haih.
*
For owners, it is indeed a shard drop in RV. However, when you factor in the second hand dealer's profit margin (there is high risk the car will be stuck with them for long time), it makes sense.
Picture yourself looking for 2nd hand Vios. How much are you willing to pay for a one-year-old Vios, old model some more, when you have to pay higher interest rate and not knowing how the previous owner treated the car?

Hi guys, i have a question, when do you guys pump your car? When reach E or ????

For me i wait till hit a bit bottom from the E Bar so i can know how much mileage i have run with full tank.

One more thing is when the Fuel Bar reach E, is kinda hard/long on starting the engine, is that a common thing?

Several month ago, i went for my 3rd service at SC, the SO said is better to pump before reach E as if you always hit after E might cause fuel pump problems, is that really a truth or ????
*
Do you need to do this for every fill up? As long as you know how much fuel it can pump in at certain fuel level, you will know the mileage for one tank.
Example: let's say u always fill in about 35L at the mark after E, and u have travelled 700km (FC 20km/L).
Now you fill in at half tank and calculate your FC. If it returns 20km/L, everything is normal and you will still get 700km range at the mark below E, without having to really go down to that low, right?

I believe the fuel pump is centrifugal pump. The no.1 enemy of centrifugal pumps is cavitation caused by insufficient suction head. The lower the level, the lower the suction head. And do take note that in a moving car, the fuel sloshes around and this affects the suction head too.
Imagine the water tank outside our house, try having a low water level and imagine you shake it like how you drive your car.

Today just changed tyre from 185/60r15 to 195/55r15..
From stock conti cc5 to michelin ps3...
Price at rm230 per donut..
After changed and drive for a while.. I must say this ps3 just wow.. Now sapu corner felt more stable than before.. It's quiet, and the fc like damn... I travelled abt 153km.. The fuel indicator still at F bar..  If old tyre, for that range of distance, for sure drop 1 minor bar aldy..

But 1 thing to compensate is your car will lower a bit than before.. But more responsive, maybe due to lower profile?

I am just sharing my thoughts after getting the new donuts.. Maybe if you guys have any recommendation also can share here..
*
+1. I think you feel more responsive due to better handling and improved steering feedback.
Its wet handling will blow your mind. A lady driver who knows nothing about cars told me she now drives in the rain confidently after changing to PS3.

This is totally wrong. You need to leave it on when you stuck in sand or slippery surface. The TRC system will apply brake to the over-spin wheel and provide grip to the other wheel. Best choice just leave it on all the time.
*
When both rear wheels are stuck in the sand or snow, they will slip easily when you step on the accelerator. With VSC on, the wheels won't be allowed to keep rotating as slippages will be detected all the time. This means you will not be able to drive out of the area.

With VSC off, the wheels can keep spinning until they get a grip and slowly move the stuck car. If course, if you keep flooring the accelerator, the wheels will spin very fast and end up digging a hole, until the car rests on the body.

1080 is default resolution, best left as it is, im sure can support 32gb, didnt test 64gb, but for me i think 32gb is overkill ald as you will be taking out the memory as soon as you captured an accident
*
IMO, it's always better to go for bigger memory card to reduce the re-write rate in order to prolong the lifespan of the card (no scientific data to back up, just personal opinion). Some dashcams have "accident mode" triggered by G-sensor and the video clips will be protected from over writing. Over time, you will have less space for normal clips and the re-write rate increases. You can mitigate by frequently re-formatting the card but this is a chore you will forget to do.

Hello guy

I was driving today
DURING DAYTIME

the headlight was auto on. It got off when i turned the knob to the second icon. but as i know, the second icon is to on the headlights manually, or am i wrong? It feels like the second icon is more of “auto headlight mode”.

Can someone tells me abt these icons? I want to off my headlights during daytime.
*
You can only switch on the pole/parking/small lights, or switch on headlights manually or leave it on auto.
I'm sure your user's manual will tell you that. I don't own the Vios, just based on your photo.

Wasn't this recall activated a few years back? My Vios was involved and I had my passenger airbag inflator at SC. I checked at Toyota Malaysia website and there is nothing mentioned about this latest recall.

NCP42 and NCP93 owners, please check your car for any recall.
Below is mine. I changed the passenger airbag inflator during last recall, now looks like got another recall to either replace the same inflator, or the driver's airbag side.

For our kch sc case, my friend vios he one year service once. Didn't follow the half year schedule. But sc still don't dare cut his warranty. So I'm planning to do so too

Ask your sales advisor about this beforehand though. He will be able to help.
*
He had better be prepared to have warranty claims rejected.

It came with 16 Gb which I think its more than sufficient as the function is to record a short critical moment in the case of accident.
*
Smaller ROM will mean more write cycles, which should shorten its life
In any case, it's always good to have a spare card as you'll never know when it goes kaput.
