Hi, first off congrats on getting your very first car

I'm not an expert car guy but have been driving a Perodua for the past 5+ years and switched to a Vios this year. These are only my personal opinions and if I'm wrong I hope someone else can correct me.

1. For me, the brand doesn't really make much of a difference, just use the petrol station that's closest to your house.

2. RON95 is enough for day-to-day usage, don't need to worry about that.

3. This will depend on the person, the Vios' paint is quite thin and you will see stone chips after some time. In my personal view, a car will get small stone chips and hairline scratches eventually. Better to save your money and just do regular cleaning and vacuuming a few times a month.

4. Please go to official Toyota service centers for the first 5 years or the warranty will void. After that, it's up to you if you want to continue sending to official service centers or a third party.

Additional tips
- Opt for the front and rear dashcam for peace of mind, you have to pay extra now yes but if something happens then it'll make the process smoother (e.g. insurance, police report)
- Get a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) to actively monitor your car's tyre pressure, got a bunch of choices on Shopee/Lazada, just pick the one with the best recent reviews
- The car already comes with a tint but you can add sunshades for all 4 doors for privacy. Again there are plenty of choices on Shopee/Lazada for magnetic sunshades
This is all I can think of for now, have been using my Vios for 1 month+ now. Hopefully some veterans could offer their insight as well

Congrats! I also had these questions when i got my vios last year..
RON95 is enough.. i always pump petronas, because its near my place, so i cant help on that.
For car maintenance, can go to car detailing forum.
But generally coating only if u got the money, if not can just diy wax n cleaning if u have the time and energy.

Im still using TNG card since RFID is only one lane and i see often ppl get stuck lol

coating & film worth few k is not worth becos whole painting is also few k

You can give them a call and ask if it's possible to also add the rear dashcam since it's just a minor accessory.

I almost forgot, this also depends on the person. The default horn on my old Perodua and current Vios is quite weak imho so I had that changed to a louder horn haha

I tried igl coating, you can diy if you are willing to learn. Vios paint is thin, u cant avoid paint chips. But try to not tailgate lorries n trucks.. im more worried of the stones cracking my headlight/camera/radar/windscreen

there is a trend of original paint = high resell value.

If really protect the paint/interior, covered parking with frequent car wash still the best. Don't even need coating. Wax once a year also good enough ady.
If always park at open car park with rain and hot sun, not only paint work deteriorates, interior, rubber lining, tint film and what not deteriorates all together, and wind sound creeps thru rubber lining sooner.

Yes. While paint is still in good condition (always covered parking + frequent car wash), just waxing will do. That saves the effort of polishing.
Choose a good easy-on-easy-off wax will be a wise choice. Dont have to be too expensive, normal Soft 99 wax such as Soft 99 Kiwami Extreme Gloss Wax which is under rm50 also good enough ady.

For windscreen and all other glass, suggest use glass cleaner product to clean off before apply water repellent product, that will keep clear vision when raining.
If didn't take care windscreen/windows panel for too long, then have to glass polish before apply water repellent.

Try to get bungalow lot when parking, or at least next to pilar if bungalow lot not available. That will reduce chances of being hit by other car door(s).

For the RFID fitment. Just go to The Mines, go down until L1 parking where the yellow floor parking area. Just park your car near to the entrance. The booth is right in front of the lift on the entrance. Closed on Monday. Registration & fitment done on the spot within 10 mins.

Just need to open the E wallet apps. No need id card. Topup at least RM 35 for the payment because the fees were deducted directly from the apps. Great explanation from the guy if you have any inquiries.

If I'm buying a second hand 2021 Vios, am I still entitled for the 5 year warranty?
