I am looking to buy all new vios spec E. Question to all new Vios owner, i see from the brochure it states

"Cabin Quietness
The all-new Toyota platform greatly suppresses external noise and vibration. With foam filled cavities and less holes in the body, the result is superior quietness that defies the category"
I wonder if its applicable to both version including E spec? I hope its not one of the thing they remove to cut cost for lower spec.

Just got my Vios 2023 in November. I think it is the same for both E and G specs, G specs only gains the front windows acoustic glass.

However, do not expect much in cabin quietness as it is only on par with other B segment rivals. I can still hear a lot of road, cars and wind noise coming from the doors especially at the rear. Squeaking sound is very prominent when going on bumpy roads which I plan to file a complaint during my 1000 km service this week.

Hi bro. The specs sheet pdf i got says "With" for Acoustic Windshield glass for both E and G. Or was there an updated specs sheet pdf or something
*
Just checked, you are right it is also available on the E variant too!

But to be honest, I find cabin quietness isn't as great on the latest vios. Less road noise from the bottom but lots of noise from passing vehicle and from the wind...

I also have a city hatchback in the family and I find it has better door insulation than the vios, but the road noise loses out to vios. I guess its due to the fact the City's toyo tires may not be as good as the conti premium contact on the vios.

Im using vios 2021, and i didn't particularly liked my toyo tires too. They are slippery especially in the cement carpark (imo). Can't wait to change them out
*
Personally a fan of recent conti tires, the MC6 was good on my civic; while the premium contact C has even lower noise level on the vios.
Would consider changing to their UC7 on my family's city hatchback next year!

Yours is E variant?

Btw how do you find other part of NVH for new vios, such as Vibration and Harshness (eg: if lalu bonggol tak rasa sangat ka?)
*
Mine is G spec. Ride is comfortable but as mentioned the NVH and vibration not so good when going over bumpy roads.

Road bumps are ok as they are round. But when passing those expressway thick lines during bends, the whole car vibrates like crazy. Everyday I had to suffer the same on the turning towards Damansara link going up to pavilion damansara, the car suspension squeaks and vibrates the most over there...

Overall still a good car and fun to drive as the steering has a sporty feel to it.

I think thats acceptable for this price range.. my vios 2021 also can hear when going thru those yellow/red lines
*
Yes, very acceptable. Just done my 1k service last week and my first time at Toyota, I must say it's a much pleasant experience servicing at Toyota compared to Honda. The crowd is less and the waiting time is less. Plus Toyota don't try to upsell you unnecessary items such as fuel saver pills, sanitizer spray etc. Some other items Honda forced you to take are brake cleaner, window channel lubricant at almost every service... not sure if toyota has the same in my coming services?

Plus they include a free car wash after the service, Honda used to have it but removed it after MCO...

Also managed to fix my hard to close car boot... i think they changed the rubber stopper to smaller ones and it solved the problem.

Are continental tires good compared to michelin's? I have used xm2 on my other cars but i see now continental got promo. Planning to change my toyo tires to xm2+ soon
*
I had XM2 on my city before, good when new but the noise gets horrible after a year of use... moved on to toyo Proxes CR1 and it was worse but at a cheaper price.

When I got my Civic it came with Conti MC5 and those were bad too, when I manage to swap them with MC6 it was so good and they say its 70% of what Mic PS4 could do at a much cheaper price. So I tried Conti UC7 on my 2010 City and loving its balance between handling and comfort. It grips well in both dry and wet at avg speed of 80kmph (unker liao, don't speed anymore with a bb in the car). Same time offers a comfy and quiet ride on my 2010 honda city!

Then this year I got the G spec vios which came default in Conti premium contact C! So far driven it on DUKE, Penchala, AKLEH and mostly on MRR2. I think these tires are more on the comfort side which is close to the UC7, but grip on the UC7 seems to be better... could not tell them apart on noise levels though... Would go for the UC7 if i were to change my next set of tires in the future as there are more promo on UC7.

Speaking of promo, I bought my conti's from their shopee official store and have them fitted at a shop in damansara perdana. It was easy as everything was included. Buy from shopee, choose your shop and make the appointment. Download the conti TCP app and visit the shop at the day of appointment. The shopee purchase includes alignment, balancing, and valves already. After the installation, use the conti TCP app to register the 5 years warranty and 1 year accident protection and you are good to go! smile.gif

Toyota sc i have mixed experience, eventho going to the same SC but different person will treat u differently. Common claims they know, they will straight away rectify, but if u say noise, so far i didnt manage to claim.

Thanks for ur review on conti!
*
Oh yea I forgot about my noise complaint. I also complained on the squeaking noise and the SA replied me in a weird way... "maybe you are not used to driving a toyota?"

What is that suppose to mean? Squeaking is part of Toyota's DNA? Anyway they say no test drive on Saturday and I need to make another appointment during weekdays to check the noise.

Did u purchase online (shopee) or at tire shop?
*
Shopee payday or 6.6 would be cheaper. They had 1.5k spend - 450 voucher previously during Raya promo. Comes with continental metal valve, balancing and installation included. Need to pay extra for alignment (around rm30) at the shop.

Using UC7 185/55 R16 on my other car which feels alot better in terms of grip and comfort compared to Conti Premium Contact C on my Vios G 2023...

UC7 is also better than Mic XM2 and Toyo CR1 in my testing...
