dear all,

i am trying to "revive" my old NCP42 vios.
it get a new paintjob and other minor upgrades.
of the upgrades im thinking is the key.
i am still using the stock Cobra alarm and wondering if i can transfer the board/chip into the new key as below.

any alternative recommendation is much appreciated.

I don't know if yours are 1st gen NCP42, but my mother 2nd gen NCP42 stock key like the image above is absolute thrash. Each year need to buy new shell as the rubber material disintegrate when you are turning the key to start the engine. Eventually i looking for alt and found 2m2 key box.

The installation for key board are straight forward and key need to duplicate. Unfortunately, the retractable key mechanism isn't durable enough and i have to add normal key to key ring. Also over the year, the top plastic hook are broken and i use sellotape to fix it. You might be better off with flip key but i don't know if the flip mechanism are sturdy enough to last long time.

Semi-synthetic should last at least 7km so you should change at 13k. Refer to your car service booklet for additional add-on items.

Why need to add spacer? Don't you think without spacer, the rim can go more inside so it will not hit the fender?
