Never rotated?
For your next purchase you can try either CC6 (quiet, long life, comfortable) or Kumho Ecsta PS31 (water performance and agility)

Have anyone found youtube videos showing how to remove the ugly front "twin things" yet? Someone here claimed he did it within 10 mins!

Pretty sure you'd just have to pry it with your bare hands. If not, cover a plastic squeegee/expired card with a cloth and pop it out. It's held by double sided-tape.

How do i brighten up my vios 2014 gen headlights? At night , it's a bit dim, compared to my Innova 2.0E, which is damm bright?

Aside from white LEDs, what other ways i could do? I have the original toyota basic tinted installed by Toyota and not outside sources.

Thanks
*
Projector?
You can try Osram Nightbreaker halogens. But there's 4300K LEDs that's like OEM HIDs in colour output. Great for my reflectors during dry/wet driving.

Also, those who owns 2017+ Vios with Dual VVTI + CVT can try to update your ECU.
It will be exactly the same as the new Vios/Yaris in terms of throttle response.

Who's going to the service center soon? Can try to ask. It's free I've heard. biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Which bulb/led type you used for your vehicle bro? Reflector housing right?

Update ECU? Means update ECU to same as new Yarie/Vios ECU?
I am going to svc soon, at June, plus renewing car insurance for 3rd year..
Anyone using MSIG insurance here? Do they cover for car theft case? Just in case.

And update for my michelin ps3 after usage for 1 month plus, the fc literally a bit bad than before, but still acceptable.. Maybe first 1k mileage is to break in the tyre? Overall handling is nice and confident.. Haha..
*
Now using Seoul Y19 CSP chip (4300k) H4. Satisfied lah. Also peace of mind during roadblocks.
My previous one 3 way LED kaput after a year.

Yes. You can just tell 'em your gearbox felt sluggish during low crawl speeds/acceleration. They'll adjust and reflash with the new update. From a logical standpoint, same engine/drivetrain should have the same settings lah. Unless they have presets for each model code. As far as I know, the new Vios yaris is still NCP150.

But don't take my words for it as I also just found out. Try to ask for it and feel the difference. biggrin.gif

hello all,
i lost my book. need info from the otai here. for ncp150 auto when should i change the gearbox oil?

and

for ncp150 g spec what is the headlamp socket type? if i install led do i need extra equipment like ballast?
thanks. your info and help really much appreciated
*
It is HIR2 type for projector G spec. Can search in online shopping apps or FB. They do sell them. It's all plug and play.

QUOTE(jasper91 @ Jun 9 2019, 01:05 AM)
ohhh okay thanks. and one more thing. a 17inch rim is really bad for vios right?? i am worry now if i dont get it change soon. and the fuel consumption is more too right ?
*
Pickup is bad, it will burden your lower arm as Vios as a tendency to get bad lower arm faster. Also the steering rack will get more stress also.

Just change to 195/55/R15 tyres with 7jj max width rims. Trade them in and you might save some cash. Get OEM rims (compatible rims from stock cars) if you don't want fancy ones. But if you do, there's plenty out there. Thai/Malaysian rims are fine. Second is Taiwan. Don't go for China rims.

Reputable rim brands: Raxxer, Advanti, Lenso.
Thailand copy: TCK manufactured rims for "Japanese brands".

Plenty of good shops out there. If you're in KL, King of Rims & KeanLeeHin (Google/FB can be found)

edit : btw how bad is the FC in 17inch rim? anyone got experience in this?
*
Tbh anywhere can. As I'm not from KL, you might have to ask someone you know on this.

FC in city with full tank will give u less than 350km under normal throttling. No joke.

You can find Syn Jin Tyre (KK) on Facebook. They're good with tons of selection and honest pricing. Just make sure you follow my advise here. You can WhatsApp/messenger/call them up.

What's your car colour?

White color. i guess its matte black colored rim to go with?

and noted. i think inknow the shop, near my place too.
*
With my personal experience, gloss black is hard to maintain. Once there's water spots etc, it'll look "matte".

So matte black, gunmetal will look great on a 15" tyre.

i googled ce28 also looks nice.
btw, do u know where got sell bodykit? approx how much is it?
*
Can't go wrong with those also. If you get bored of it can sell or trade. People would still want it. Just keep your receipts.

If you want GX or TRD (2017+), it's around 1-1.5k. PU/ABS material.
Can try Sun Brothers Auto Putatan (FB).

Yesterday saw one Indian bro drove his vios gx spec with oem rim and upsized tyre, at 195/60r15.. Any sifu here changed to this tyre size with oem rim before?

I am just wonder wouldn't it will be heavier than before? Hmm..
*
Your speedo might be slightly affected. Not wise to go beyond the 4% rule. Your fenders might kena also if fully tilted to the left/right.

195/55/R15 is the best compromise between comfort and stability.
I've changed to Kakimotor Zerone Springs last year. Still doing good. 60 is very bouncy during speedier cornering mind you.

QUOTE(avatar931 @ Jun 10 2019, 12:04 AM)
Should be 195/55 R15 inchย  or OEM 185/60 R15..
Not sure speedometer will tally especially bypass aes, speed trap..

Exactly.

Dear all,

Informed by my SA that, 5 years warranty may void if my Vios is not sent for servicing, follow date or mileage (whenever come first).

mean if service date come first, but my mileage only 2000km, also have to sent for servicing.

Are you guys follow date or mileage normally? coz I only drive my car during weekend which my mileage will be very low.

How u guys think? Should I follow date instead of milleage? very costly for servicing in twice a year. Thanks.
*
QUOTE(naturalfool @ Jun 10 2019, 10:31 AM)
Yep.ย  I just did my 10k service last week when my mileage only 8k++...cos was told will void warranty.ย

Apparently now they very strict that my 20k service also must do before the 1 year markย  doh.gif

That's like in 5 months time.ย  If I can hit 12k by then already I must say hallelujah...its in their service schedule.ย  What to do want to make sure not to void warrantyย  sad.gif

From my usage already know that I will need to follow the date and not the mileage...although I drive everyday but to work and back only.
*
Usually you guys opt for semi or fully? If semi <10k is fine. Won't be that clean also.

Oh yeah. Please ask for ECU update for your Vios DVVTi CVT (2017+) from 0000 to 0020. Brand new car. brows.gif

HI All,

My VIOS is the Limited Dugong version.

Now going for 180k km service.. do you guys have any idea how much it will cost? what need to change on 180k km service? any idea? is this a major service?
*
Can check your service schedule:
NCP93: https://toyota.com.my/media/document/attach...os-Maxcheck.pdf

I advice to check undercarriage, lower arm, suspension, steering & engine parts wear&tear.

Thanks for the link. Seems like it is just normal service and not a major one.
yes, there are leaks between engine and gearbox. but so far the leak stopped.. will continue monitor engine and gearbox oil weekly.
rear suspension also leaking... still ok tho.. will change when confirm dead...
engine is getting rough during idling... that happen after 160k km service from Toyota SC.. sadding, not sure what really happen there. still no solution found yet. maybe spark plug? O2 sensor?

thanks.
*
Still have warranty? If not you can go to vmax garage. The guy is well known for fixing Vios and upgrade parts. Refurbished and new included.

Needs proper diagnostics. It can be anything. Worn down gaskets, loose hose, dried hose, soot built-up in pistons, etc.

You can opt for Kayaba RS pro for shocks. OEM Vios shocks are from Kayaba also.

My BIL just overhauled his NCP42 and it cost around 2.2K with misc parts and labour. 230k car.

Maybe Nam Sing Car Repair @ Bayan Lepas. I heard good reviews over there.

QUOTE(naturalfool @ Jun 12 2019, 10:46 AM)
I opted for semi since won't reach 10k km until next service. Will opt for the engine flushing for the 10k service also since I said no for last service but was wondering is it necessaryย  hmm.gif
Apa ini?ย  Mine late 2018 Vios G.
*
Don't be a slave to the SC requests. Most of the things beyond the service routine is optional (sometimes redundant also) including A/C servicing.
You can opt to do it outside no harm there.

Engine flushing is only effective after 100k or rough use tbh.
Don't take my word for it. Here's an article worth a read and make your choice.
https://www.total-serbia.rs/en/advice-and-p...gine-flush.html

A supposed ECU update to mimic the same throttle response as new Vios/Yaris.

QUOTE(leinnz @ Jun 13 2019, 08:42 AM)
They do not able to update mine sad sad
*
Can try other SC as it's not a centralised issue. Better go to a bigger SC. Only higher pangkat technies are able to do such operations.

Just wondering, for the ECU update, at which location they do the update.
Inside the car cabin or at the engine compartment?
After the update, what can we expect?
More responsive?
Thanks.

In between the dash and engine bay. Low speed acceleration will not jerk like rubber band already. Try subtle acceleration during jam preferably 5-20kmh, you'll feel the inability of the gearbox to decide what to do with its gear.

A pretty common CVT disadvantage. It will reduce it but not completely eliminate the issue.

In order to update the ECU, do they need to open the dashboard?
Yes, felt the jerk at low speed especially when the AC is ON.
But after the update, will the FC become bad?
Thanks.

No. It's in between the dash and hood compartment.

Still not bad I guess but you might lose some cents from the better response.

What is purring noise? Is it like driving manual car, but give not enuf fuel, then the car chok chok like that? I did notice this for my car, if put light throttle and vehicle is in very low speed, then this happened.. Is this consider purring noise?

Transmission braking sound. Like "wook wook" aka "I don't know if I should speed up or slow down" moment.
Should be the same. Damn annoying.
